need some car advice

alrighty, so I have a baby on the way.. I know that I can fit a carseat in my 8, but I am thinking about trading it in and getting something a little bigger. I still feel the need to have a car that is sporty and somewhat quick, preferably no slower than the 8. I also want something with a somewhat nice interior, like the 8. Here are the cars that I am thinking about, if anyone has any input I would appreciate it.. thanks!

1. MS6: I really like this car, but I havn't heard much good about it.. at least from what I have read on this site..
2. Legacy GT: Nice car, but doesnt look too sporty, IMO.
3. Nissan Altima/Maxima 3.5 or SE-R: Nice cars, dont know too much about them.
4. BMW 325 or 330(used)
5. Acura TL

well thats all I can think of for now, if you have any ideas, please let me know.. I have also thought about a mustang GT, but that depends on how much room it has.. and I woudl like ot keep the price range from 25-30k..

thanks again

Of all those, the only ones I would even consider is a BMW 330ci or the MS6.

Altima: FWD, boring
Maxima: FWD, boring
TL: FWD, boring, SH-AWD, boring.
Legacy GT: Soft-suspension, AWD, boring.
Mustange GT: Live rear axle, cheesy-cheesy cheap interior, ugly looks.

Just keep your damn RX-8. You're baby will easily fit in the back. And later on down the road when you actually need more room for soccer practice and whatnot get something then.

Here are a couple mag articles that should help you out.

In your situation I'd go for either the Legacy GT or an Audi A4. The TL is also a nice choice if you can put up with FWD.

yaa she has a ford focus hatchback.. i guess I should mention that I have been wanting a new car before I found out she was pregnant, so I figured now would be a good time for me to trade my 8 in. and I haven't ruled out me getting a new 8.. I really love the car, but for some reason I can't get attached to it. I bought the car on impulse, I guess because it was a good deal, or so I thought (18k for an 04 6sp GT with 28k miles). It has some dings/dents/scratches, which were there when I bought it. I hate looking at them!! and No, that isnt the main reason I want to get rid of it. but anyways, like i said, i really like it and would be happy getting a new one, but I need to think about it first and make sure its really what I want. I'm sure whatever I get will be mine for a lonng lonng time...

I think I've narrowed it down to the Legacy GT, MS6, or a new 8. oh and I saw the new trailblazer SS today, so I guess I'm thinking about that too.

Id take a look at the New Toyota Camry.. its pretty cheap and the V6 version packs a wooping 268hp that will make it quite fun for normal traffic manuvers. I also like the look, not to mention it will most likely last you at least 150,000 miles with cheap maintenance cost.
buy one of these and save up money to buy a drivers car... like the Elise or something couple of years from now when youre in a better financial situation. Then again, once you have kids, you will most likely never have extra money again, they are literally money pits :p, so what the hell man, just go get a Elise or whatever fun car you want now and let your wife worry about carrying the kids with her focus. :-p.
you might never get the chance again

IMO, the camry wouldnt even be an option coming from an 8. Im a Bimmer fan, but dont really care for the new 3 series. A used 5 series, if you can find one for a reasonable price, sounds like a good option. Or maybe a used Lexus IS 350?

Yeah, a 500hp RWD beast with very little room is a great idea for a guy looking to change cars because he's having a child.

Wait to see what the 07 TL is packing...rumors bouncing on the TL forums is that it may get the RLS 3.5 liter...who knows about the drivetrain though

I love the 330 i, and another car is the Audi a3...sporty wagon, can get the 200HP turbo DSG version, or even the more powerful, but pricer 250 hp v6 version.

Camry screams family to me, which though you got one, sounds like you want a little more style. Legacy GT is cool too, though I feel the styling is a bit dated. (looks like previous gen TL imho).

good luck

if money isnt a option. the lexus IS Series look sweet. but to bad my wife does not like 4 door cars. She just love sport cars and that is it, and has to be rwd.

1.Lexus Is series
2. Bmw 3 series
3. Audi A3 or A4
