Need help finding a car

Hey guys, I don't know a ton about cars and I'm looking for my first one. I stepped onto my first car lot and immediately fell in love with the RX-8 I saw there but after further research I found that it was out of my price range. I've got financing from my bank for a car but it has to be 2007 or newer and my spending cap is about $11000. I'm looking for a car that looks somewhat like the RX-8. Some of the cars I've already found and have liked were:

Hyundai Tiburon
Mitsubishi Eclipse
Pontiac Solstice (This one was also out of my price range)
Nissan 350Z (As was this one)

Any other ideas on something kind of sporty looking that maybe in the price range of $11000, keep in mind has to be 2007 or newer and also being my first car that I'm going to be using to drive to and from school which is quite a distance I'd like it to be ok on gas. Somewhere around 20-30 MPG would be fine just not a gas guzzler.

Also if it helps I live in British Columbia.

Thanks.

Car prices vary depending on where you live. You choose not to list that. If that list is in your price range, a RX8 should be too. However, a RX8 will only get you 20+ mpg hwy on a good day. Expect 15-16 mpg city.

You can find an 8 for $11,000 but can't say what shape it'll be in.

04's go for around $7-9k
05's go for around 9-10k
06's go for around 11k-$12k
07's go for around $13-15k
08's go for around $15-17k
09's go for around $18k-20k

etc. etc. etc.

Those aren't set in stone, I just know from the last time I was looking, those were the average prices.

I'd lean more towards a Miata for your price range, you can get an older Miata and have lots left to mess around with, they're extremely reliable.

Oh you're financing through a bank?
You can only get an 05 or newer right?

It would be an 05 if I had a good credit rating but since I dont have one at all (Im only 18, 19 in 2 weeks) it has to be an 07 or newer.

If the Nissan 350Z has a back seat, then that would be my choice before, but i chose the rx8 because it has a back seat.

you dont have any money at all?

miatas are basically dirt cheap. get an older one, my buddy picked one up for $500 from a lady except it wouldnt engage any gears, only reverse. So he paid the $500, brought 4 jackstands and fixed the problem LOL. The woman was pretty pissed

Skimmed over the 07+ part you wrote.

Its difficult to find a "sports car" that meets the 07+ $11- criteria. You may have to settle for a boring old sedan. Or lower the model year. There are some banks that allow financing for cars that are within 10 years. You may want to rethink your financing.

You can try:

Hyandai Tiburon
Mitsubishi Eclipse
Chevrolet Cobalt (may not be sporty enough for you, but you can check it out)
Pontiac G5
Pontiac G6
Scion tC
Ford Mustang (V6)
Mazda Miata
Mazda 6

I live a far distance from you (East Coast, US) but I can find at least two examples (if not more) of each of the above that are 2007 or newer, are at or under $11,000 and are "sporty(ish)".

There was even 1 Rx-8, believe it or not, that met that criteria with around 94K miles on it.
