While I agree that the paint makes the car look very evil, one scuff in the paint or ding and you would have to have the area resprayed, not just touched up. There are a few Lotus owners that have painted their cars in flat black, only to change them shortly thereafter. The GT wing looks odd to me, but that is a personal preference. I could see this in a garage, but not on the street. Adding any type of paint protectant shield would look ridiculous, and the way Lotus designed the Elise and Exige make it very prone to rock chips and such (being low and wide wheel wells). It is good marketing, but I think the best value right now for Lotus is the Purist edition. In my opinion Lotus is making too many variations of the same car. I would not pay the sticker on this car, when you can get a used Elise/Exige for under $30,000 fairly easily. I would spend the extra money on a supercharger, paint and wing.
