Took it to the dealership for some body work...after 7 failed attempts at making it perfect like they said, the general manager just bought my car back and ordered me a new one.

Very nice! Just don't drive it like a slow old guy in mid-life crisis, i.e. dirt slow.

I wish they'd not body color the inside of the headlight housing though.

What did you do to it? Run it into a tree? It takes a large impact to mess the frame up enough that you can't pull the vehicle back into perfect alignment (aka, hood/fender gaps are correct, etc).

What happened?

Truck ran over my front end. No frame damage at all...and everything WAS repaired. It was just front bumper, front quarter panels, hood, headlights, some plastic pieces under the hood, and front right suspension piece & wheel. The problem was, the dealership screwed up the paint job every single time...whether it was hair in it...dirt...scratches everywhere...overspray everywhere...etc etc. The yellow is a special tint coat, so it was getting very costly for them to keep repairing and me saying 'do it again'.

With the Chip and Ram Air Intake...my '07 went above 183 by quite a bit. Actually, 186 is the 'top speed' GM says. There is no governor.

Nice Vette , but if you looked hard enough you could get 06' Z-06 in the low 50k range, i should know, my buddy just sold his yellow one with 12k miles , for 52k.

You paid 49k..... 3k more or so and you could of seriously upgraded. Don't get me wrong, your Vette is nice, and with you doing your modifications, it will get you near to Z-06 strait line performance, but you will still be lacking in the corners.

And with the Z-06 , your mods will go further, my buddy with just a Bazanni exhaust net him 27 more Hp, K&N intake, gave him 18 more Hp. No chip or long tube headers.... and his car can handle like its on rails , then just being a good handeling car like the base Vette.

Take about $10k off your figure on what I paid, and that is what I actually paid.

Well if that is the case, then I can't blame you for jumping into a base Vette. I seen G35/350Z priced that high if not higher(39-42k), and there no way near on the level of a Vette, so good buy!

Yeah, I have seen those same G/Z cars as well selling for high 30's/low 40's. I got a similar deal on my 2007 as well. I just can't wait till it's broke in...only have 370 miles to go on the break in! Then I can put the intake on...i'll put the exhaust on before the intake though anyways.

I was being a little tongue in cheek since I personally consider 186 mph (thanks for the correction) of the base 'Vette to be adequate.

Glad when I was 23 I couldn't afford a vette, 400hp at that age would have killed me. But then thats me

Nice ride, enjoy it responsibly.
