It's ugly as sin.
It really smells like rice... spider rear bars for a street vehicle? huge rear sub box that doesn't even match the interior? Cheap lowering springs? wheels and fartcan?
You say it isn't rice but it really is the epitome of said word. It seriously lack a project behind it, you just slap shitty parts as they come.
Will it be a showcar? track car? disco on wheels? Right now it is a bit of everything which means it is nothing but a random pile of crappy products slammed together.
Apparently you were the one to never have a project car going on... so let me explain how it works:
You buy the car,
completely restore it and put it in good working conditions (you didn't do it with the 8 either)
plan your goals and store the car 'till it's completed otherwise things will break in the process and you will never really be over with it.

Jeez you guys are harsh...

If a guy likes his car that's all that matters.

Let the haters hate man, personally I don't like it but if you do that's all that matters.

I am curious ... did you replace the OEM header with a DC ceramic header that are mangled at the downstream? .... And lets not even get into the fact that A. DC Sports has the same tube diameter as the OE header, B. has a reputation for having the shittiest 4 to 1 coupler where the flow is terrible, C. bottlenecks at the cat anyway so whats the point?

Again, I am not trying to be a dick here, but you came into this thread with an ***-like attitude so I am just trying to sort everything out and educate you a bit on honda aftermarket parts.

fyi my honda resume:

God's honest truth, if he wasn't being a ******* about it I would say not a word. Truth of the matter is that an auto enthusiast is NOT just a tuner. Some like visually altering a car as opposed to mechanically altering one. That's fine really, my problem comes into play when someone does or says something douche-like. Then I jump all over it. That's for anything from cars to computers to art.

If he likes it that is indeed all that matters, I find myself defending my choice of RX8 over a different car by saying I love it and thats all that matters, but once you get douchie it's open season. I am sure a lot of people would have let it pass if he wasn't making some of the remarks he is making.

i dont see my first response as too harsh. i didnt really have an issue with it, until he called us out for never having a project car.

clearly, modding an integra is the same as bringing a car back to life.

wait...

no its not. IMO any car that is a daily driver is NEVER a project car. regardless of the argument made.

Instead of taking a few steps forward, you took a few steps back into the rice field.

In review of the thread it appears you guys just started blasting him saying his ride was wack.

IMO he didn't retaliate to much, considering he just got flamed by like 30 people.

Granted his car looks horrible and he put a bunch of non functional parts on it but that's not the points. There was much easier going route y'all could have took but instead you went straight to bashing him.

I suppose I've done it a few times as well to some noob's, but generally that's only after they start acting like idiots.

This is slightly different he's just sharing his project, I mean he did buy a yellow 8 to start with so obviously his taste is different than most of ours.

Bottom line, there was a more constructive way to give the feedback. His point about it being a project car was simply that he's starting off somewhere and will build up from there.

SH, I'm not going to call you a ricer or anything just yet (though in my personal opinion that car is dangerously close), but I do have two points I'd like to make. The first is that the spider bars in the back looked to me like they were homemade and I don't think that's a good thing. I also agree with others that have said that you will likely never be pushing the car to the point where they'd make any difference, and so at this point they're just making the car look like it's trying a little too hard. Maybe they are rare but sometimes there is a reason for that!

Second - given your recent run-in with the officers of the law, I would immediately ditch the red LED for the license plate for a white one. I know that in Ohio and Illinois (the two states I have lived in since I started driving) your license plate lights must be white. Maybe it's not the same in CA, but I would venture that it might be so at the very least you double-check on that. Hell, even if you didn't just get a ticket, it's not worth the attention it could grab from the wrong people, even if it is legal it's the type of thing that will set off red flags in an officer's head and make them more likely to try to get you for something else. And just as an aside, I don't care for the look of it either, but that's just my personal taste.

Also I just thought of a third and again this is my personal taste - not a fan of the green interior especially in the bronze car.

Because I am a nice guy and a proficient Googler of things, here you go...

V C Section 24601 License Plate Lamp

License Plate Lamp

24601. Either the taillamp or a separate lamp shall be so constructed and placed as to illuminate with a white light the rear license plate during darkness and render it clearly legible from a distance of 50 feet to the rear. When the rear license plate is illuminated by a lamp other than a required taillamp, the two lamps shall be turned on or off only by the same control switch at all times.

Amended Ch. 1313, Stats. 1965. Effective September 17, 1965.

Ditch the red license plate light.

My old car before this 8 is an integra, and that's why I sold it, alot of hondas ricers out there like this one! Even me and my girlfriend love it, we go to the new owner house to see it every month, but I have to say sorry with my girlfriend to keep it!

When I bought it, the wing, the tail light housing, everything was like this one, I rebuilt motor, tranny, put body kit on, skunk2 camber kit, tokico shocks, and bring it to autocross every month, and I keep it that way, never put anything more like the lights, the rims,ect...

I do love integra but I hate ricers make it worth!

Sorry man, but I don't get WHY you have put pics of the POS here,, yes you totalled your 8...but PLEASE..those pics hurt my EYES!!..

I FAIL to see how you would get ANY positive comment here, the interior made me want to chuck.

Go over to the Honda Acura forums mate...PLEASE...and you can delete this thread yourself from your first post, hit the edit button and then delete..

And when you get an FB, there is the RX-7 club.com.

I wouldnt dare post any more threads on rx7club... and just for that, I refuse to delete this thread. It is in the lounge. I've already have lots of posts on clubintegra, and I've talked to several guys from there, and they say my car is decent - pretty good. YES I KNOW THIS ISNT AN INTEGRA FORUM, thanks captain obvious. This is just one of those things... But if I bought something like, say.. A GTO, would that make you all think differently? You dont have to answer that. And just so you know, clubintegra isnt a ricer forum.. They look down upon and disown that crowd, trust me. Theres even a guy with a newer Civic on clubintegra that wont go to the civic forums because of that crowd

Anyways, if you dont like it, follow shady's advise... click the back button

No, GTO's are lame too, it would not make me feel differently.

And it's not the model of car you have it's your car in particular. The Acura Integra is a great car for what it is. If you came in here with a clean GSR or Type R you would not get getting the abuse you are getting. It has nothing to do with the fact that your car is an Integra, it's th fact that your car is a POS. If you started a thread about doing these same mods on an RX-8 you would still be abused (think Monchie)

The car model isn't the issue. I've seen some really clean hondas, including integras. Most of the hate is on the modifications. The car isn't so far that it's already ruined, but some of the things are a bit much and that's why you're catching a lot of flak. The only reason I think it might be different if it was a GTO is that the parts market for cars like that are a bit different and don't typically have some of the more "rice-like" modifications, at least not as many.

If you don't want negative opinions or advice that strongly disagrees with the modifications you've done, then don't post pictures on a public discussion forum. I think it's kind of silly to expect only good comments or even mostly good comments as a response. If you disagree with it and really enjoy the mod, keep it. If the comments make you question it, then maybe consider finding a replacement. Even really clean and nice modifications will get negative comments. You just gotta learn to deal with it.

... what they said.
"A ton of stabilizer bars" and then OBX springs? That's enough to show the reason behind some of our comments.

I'm not hatin' on superhypered or anybody else. If your posting just to bash somebody, then it's up to you. It's up to the moderators to decide whether to delete or just leave it as is. If it turns out to go out of hand, then the moderators can lock this thread and close it for good. There are no winners and losers to this.

Ahhhh....leave the kid alone. Everyone has different passions and tastes. Even the coolest builds here can get bashed by others. I guess that's just how the world goes round in some cases and we learn, adapt and move forward. However, like my mother told me, if you have nothing positive to say, don't say anything at all and move on.

Yeah, but if you don't want/can't take criticism then don't post up on a public forum.
