My 2008 Corvette 0 to 60 and 100

Well I finally had some time to start retuning my car after I got the headers on...my tuning device allows me to log a bunch of settings...including timestamps, rpm, speed, spark advance, and knock retard, MAF airflow.

I decided to do a 0-60 and 0-100 (on a closed track..) log.

Attached is a pdf of the run. It is based in excel, and I have added a 2nd column called 'edited time'. Since the log started 3.389 seconds before I actually started moving, I simply made a formula that subtracted 3.389 seconds from the original time so I can get a timestamp starting at 0:00:00:00 right as I started going. I applied this to all rows.

Here is some info on the car at the time of doing this log
2008 Corvette 6-speed manual
1/2 tank of gas
197 degrees coolant temp
31 PSI in rear tires
Windows Up
Targa Top ON

mods:
SLP Loudmouth 1 exhaust
Vararam Ram Air Intake
Throttle Body Spacer
LG Pro Long Tube Headers with 32 inch long primaries...1 3/4 inch diameter piping in the primaries
High Flow Cats
LG X-pipe

As you can see in the logs...I launched from around 4400rpms. I popped the clutch, but gradually applied the gas so I didn't get a ton of wheelspin..still heard my tires spinning up till

According to this, my times are:

0-60 - 3.457 seconds (page 15)
0-100 - 8.309 seconds (last page)

I'm going to try and get it to a strip to get a timeslip soon.

What are you putting to the ground? Because, you can't rationally say your car went 0-60 in 3.5 seconds unless you're up around 440-450 rwhp and you have drag radials.

A 3.5 0-60 and an 8.3 0-100 in a Vette lands you about an 11.8 at about 121 mph quarter mile. Your car can do that with those mods?

I'm just saying, the way you're measuring it might not be the most accurate.

Haven't dyno'd it but other cars with the same mods are getting around 430-440RWHP

These are the 'top of the list' showroom stock people on the corvetteforum I belong to

Showroom Stock
11.71 @ 119.94 - AndrewZPSU - 08 M6 - (2590)
11.80 @ 118.82 - Gmrulz - 08 A6 Z51, Npp - (3482)
12.10 @ 117.60 - Dingrao - 08 A6 - (3567)
12.15 @ 115.59 - Old Goat - 09 A6 2.73 - (3712)

The headers I have, are worth 30-35RWHP...and around 35-40 torque

The vararam intake I have is known to cut .3 seconds in the quarter mile with just the intake (backed up by multiple people that run it, along with other magazine articles).
I usually get the most 'thats bs' on my intakes gains...below is a screenshot from an article in GM High Tech magazine.

I hope to get to the strip sometime soon to get a slip.

Thats perty fast partner. U saying you ran 3.4 w/ street tires?? Man that is really hard to believe that u could pull that time feathering the clutch till it hooked, takes too much time. No doubt its fast as hell but that seems a lil low. But hey, im sure its pretty close anyways. get those vids posted so we can c that beast.

That's cool you're going to take it to the strip.

Funny thing is, I bet I know "Old Goat" on that list. He used to have an 11 second bolt on only GTO until he traded to an A6 Vette. He got a lot out of his setup, and was at the top of our Bolt On list. That 12.15 will be an 11.xx soon.

11.71 with an M6? Holy ****. That's bangin' em. I guess that your 3.5 is possible looking at the list, but, man, it'll be some damn good driving if you get into the 11's. I'd like to see you pull it off.

Yeah I want to get to the strip...cant wait to see. I'm sure that it's the same in the goats as it is in the vette....torque management in the tune is a real killer. I'm thinking about putting the stock tune back in, and doing a run to see if i'm right. I know during the launch, and during each shift torque management would retard the timing drastically. I know when I was stock, even with 430 horsepower to the crank...I couldn't get the back tires to spin one bit unless i popped the clutch or really 'tried'. Once I got the tune, and disabled torque management...I could be going 5mph...gas it...and hear the tires spinning through half of first gear.

I see you have around 440RWHP...what do you run in the quarter?

I see you have around 440RWHP...what do you run in the quarter?
You're right about torque management. It's the devil, and there's more than one area in the tune that needs to be changed in order to get it all. Luckily I have a friend that helps me out with HP Tuners. Reminds me that I need to go back to him to have him look at my tune. I've got a wideband, and I'm leaning out on the spray, but running rich NA. I've thought about going from a dry shot to a 150 wet shot.

I've run 13.6 @ 107mph NA (just catback and an air filter). I haven't sprayed it at the track yet... did the dyno at one of our GTO dyno days. I was at 342 rwhp NA. Spraying it on the dyno gave me almost exactly 100rwhp. I've researched it, and a 100 dry shot on our cars is good for about 10 mph of trapspeed and about a second in the quarter, so mid 12's at 117mph. To tell you the truth, I got the 100 shot just in case I run into C6's Your car is evil fast right off the showroom floor.

But, my car is around at 500 lbs heavier than yours. GTO curbweight is 3750 and a C6 is right around 3220 to 3250, right?

And people wonder why I make it a rule to be leary about racing f-bodys and GTO's! Yep, you are close on the weight...i checked a couple sources and they range between 3170 and 3220....mines the base model so I don't have the extra weight of the 2LT and 3LT trims.

I wish I had your seats though...they are a thing of beauty.

How does that bother you? The corvette has an LS-series engine.... 8 cylinders and i believe 7 liters? while the rx8 is a rotary, just two rotors and 1.3 liter..... Makes sense that the 8 cylinders would have a lil more power straight out the box....

I believe the C5 engines (LS1 and LS6 were a 5.7 liter.). The 2005-2007 C6 (LS2) was 6.0 liters)...the 2008+ C6 (LS3 was 6.2 liters). The C6 Z06 2006+ (LS7 with 7 liters)

Oh no, you misunderstand. I dont fault the Rx8, its a great car. I'm still annoyed at the guy that demodded his 660RWHP vette and traded it in.
