LOL! you call that an *** rape? I'm 25, driving for 9 years. perfect driver and I'm paying 2650cdn / year for insurance. And that is the absolute cheapest..

My close friend is a manager for a ford dealership, so he let me take the mustang GT for a spin last summer.. All I have to say is that it's fast, but the handling absolutley sucks. And the interior, wtf is up with the chairs.. The head support slants forward so i couldn't get comfortable. The dash felt like my dad's old 1980 t-bird.. Overall it was a terrible experience for me, but it was fast!

Also when i was taking it around a slight bend the brand new tires where squeeling! I took that exact same corner with my 8 doing 30km/h faster and not a peep!

The squeeling was so bad a manager from a different dealership across the road called my friend and said "There is some maniac customer driving the **** out of the mustang!!" yea ok buddy, come into my car

I'm sure some ppl love this car.. but for me, it was a big no go..

Yeah I could have gone faster but then I would be parking next to one in every other parking lot, unlike the 8. Also, the Ford isn't nearly as comfortable as the 8, the Mazda seemed to fit me better.
I can echo that almost word-for-word... had an 03 and was looking at a SWEET Rousch but when I went to drive the RX-8... see ya!!!!

For me, the Mazda takes EVERY category except straightline... and as soon as the road turns, I'd catch back up to ya, then I'm GONE!!!!!

I hope those bastards took all the money they made off me and used to to fly FAR AWAY! because if I ever see those asshats again.... I kept that insurance for a year too because it was indeed the best price I could find.. so looking back I took it raw and then left all my money on the dresser for them the next morning...

Actually, I did do a search. Not a very good one though it seems. I clicked on that link to the other comparison and it said no search results found. I don't know. Thanks anyways though.

Bah, around here the GTs are all the rage. I see everything from old men to soccer moms driving them. How many soccer moms do we see driving 8s? (although it may be more practicle with the 4 doors )

Oh and when I was thinking about a mustang, the v6 was up there with the v8. Makes sense when you think about it - V6 with the 'pony package' (GT wheels, traction control, finer tuned suspension like that of the v8, basicall everything the GT had but without the large engine). Because it has the lighter V6, this car would out handle the v8 do to the same suspension but less weight. Next comes s/c, throw on a non-warranty voiding s/c and its consierably faster than stock V6. Therefore one will have better handling than the V8, better gas mileage, cheaper insurance rates, and a cheaper initial price. May not quite beat the V8 in speed but due to its upsides, that was still within the realm of purchase for me. When it came down to it I probably would have just got the GT though, the V8 is hard to pass up.

Then again, one could just purchase the 8 :p

For the street only, I would go with the Mustang GT, but for any type of track days, stock for stock, the RX8 is a better car.
The RX-8 has been noted for it's build quality on a $30,000 dollar car. You don't hear much like that for the Ford. The interior looks good, and doesn't feel cheap. The Mustang, on the other hand, well rarely hear anybody other than a Ford sycophant praise it's interior.

It's really a bad comparison to rate the Mustang vs. the RX8.....the only thing they have in common is price. The Mustang is not trying to be a sports car and the RX8 is not trying to be a muscle car. I think we can all agree that the Mustang does the muscle car thing very well and the RX8 does the sports car thing very well. I had both on my wish list because I needed a fun 4-seater for $30K.....both meet that requirement. Anyone who has driven the Mustang will testify that it is fun. It's fast of the line, and it gets attention from just about everyone. The RX8 is a different kind of fun and also gets a lot of attention. I really feel that some on this forum really bash on the Mustang for strange reasons. The interior is not that bad....in fact it got some awards in 2005 for best design. Is the fit and finish equal to the RX8? No....but not much does in the $30K price range. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the 8 is.....as most people are. The interior of the Mustang is more in-line with that of other $30K vehicles, and not as bad as many comment on. By the way, when you compare the interior of the 2005 to the 2004, they are night and day. The older SN95 had a REALLY cheap interior.

My rates were cut in half the day I turned 25. Everyone said I would have to finish out the six month policy before I would notice a difference but no, I got a new policy in the mail the day after I turned 25.
