I like Euro Rally-style bikes.
This is the 1999 Cagiva Gran Canyon GC900 that replaced my 1989 Honda TransAlp. |

I love the Gran Canyon, much quicker and more powerful than the TA (see pic).
The Gran Canyon is the best way to buy a Ducati! The engine is basically the Ducati Monster engine w/fuel injection. Like all dual-purpose bikes, the GC was not a good seller in the US. You can get them in like-new condition for under $7,000. You get the same ride as the Multi-strada for half the price and any Ducati dealer can work on the GC. |
'78 Honda CX500 -- slower than a stock Miata, but 20% better fuel mileage -- so ugly that it'll never be stolen! The first bike I rode (at the tender age of 10) was a flathead Harley with suicide shift -- got about a mile, laid it down, and couldn't pick it up.
