More on new Rx-7 and a US version of Mazda6 from Motor Trend
I hope the Taiki is released and looks just like that. Because it will make my 8 look so much better when parked next to it. That is one hideous beast of an automobile. The thought of a 1.6 for the RX8 really peaks my interest but I have to think that 08, maybe 09 is the last year for the 8 in the US. Sales are closing in on 0.
lol owned.

In 5 yrs, do you really think the resale value on a present day RX8 will be good? I didn't buy the car for it's resale value. I bought the car to drive. And I will be driving it into the ground.
Why are they building Mazda6 in the US AGAIN! I had high hopes for this new 6 until I saw this. US built Mazdas suck.

I read here that your new 6 was going to be Japan made, how wrong they were.
I did think at the time "where would Mazda Japan find the capacity to build a US only larger version of around 7000 units a month", well they just do not have that capacity.
I agree, I would much rather the Japaneses made 6 than the US version...
IMO US made Mazda's drag down their quality ratings.

some one is either feeding us some bs or mazda is even more close to the vest than usual.either way even im starting to have hope for that "r-tuned" model with a 16x. lets see if we cant find out which. stay tuned....

on topic: does seem interesting... wonder if these articles just spawn off each other or if they have accurate info... guess time will tell.

Let me start by saying that I dont know rotaries
...now....how much of a real world diff. will there be with a bump from 1.3 to 1.6L
as in where do u think the powerband will be shifted or changed???

No one knows about the powerband yet. It's all up to Mazda whim, global emmisions regs, and engineering possibilities yet to be discovered. One might guess as in other engines, more cc's = more HP, less rpm's, but then the rotary is not your normal engine
Honestly, I do not think I would trade in my Rx-8 to purchase the next generation. I mean with how fast the Rx-8 depreciates, its gonna be worthless to trade in. What intrigues me the most is how they are gonna price this new rotary? I'll express this again, I would like to see it at reasonably priced at 40k and with only two seats. Make it a cheaper alternative to the GTR but much better than the lower tier sports cars like the current Rx-8, 350Z, and S2000. I believe 40k is not that much considering it is around the price of a fully loaded mid size SUV (CX-9) and its about 2/3 the price of the 3rd gen rx7, adjusted for inflation.
