That's actually a great idea. I LOVE hatchbacks, wont be good for Mazda though, competition against the 3

keep it a coupe, let all the people that want hatches grab the new sti.

Btw i saw a new sti yesterday and it looks a TON better than i had thought it looked from pictures. even tho its hatch its very sporty.

Forget the Evo hatch. Yuck.
An acquintance of mine got one of two of the first Evo X's to come into our city.
Got to check it last night. I can say that it looks better in person than in print.

Leave it a sedan. It's already functional enough, and the sedan styling looks "right" on this car.

I loved the concept, this? Not so much. Of course I don't thnk this is headed to the US. that may change depending on how well the new STI sells.

Did you check out the tiny trunk of the EVO X? This 5dr hatch is nice. I'd take it over the sedan. Likely that my current situation prefers practicality. 5dr wins.

I don't know how or why, but the Evo X trunk is pretty damn small. However, compared to the Evo Sportback concept this is a big step down. If this had been available on Fri. when i testdrove it would probably be sitting in my garage right now.

Compare:

Something doesn't look right. The concept (gray) looks way better to me than the Geneva car.

EDIT: having both on the screen simultaneously, the rear bumper protrudes too much, and the window lines aren't as aggressive on the geneva vehicle. The front end looks elongated too.

EDIT #2: and it looks like the wheel wells are much smaller on the geneva car as well.. smaller wheels too.

I love my 8 and am going to keep forever due to horrible resale value, and memories but my next car will be an EVO X this one looks pretty sweet too! very euro, europe where hatchbacks dominate, where I hit the autobahn at 150mph to have a station wagen creep up on me!

That looks frumpy. Nowhere close to the concept. I usually dig hatchbacks but the *** end is extremely disappointing.

Hatch to hatch the STi looks better but overall the Evo sedan looks the best.

Can't wait for the Subaru rally car to debut later this season in the WRC. I'm wandering what Mitsu's plans are. I read that the Evo X WRC car will debut later this year also.

I don't think there will be Evo 10's running in anything but group N.

They need to spend money on better materials for the interior.

Ike about your comparison between the 2 pictures.

I've spent lots of hours doing photoshop and i can easily say that i believe that the red 1 is in fact a photoshop, whereas the silver 1 is a render/real picture.

i can tell because the back end of the red 1 looks like it was straight off the lexus SUV and color matched...not very well i must add.

I know for a fact the silver one is an actual photo. The red car I'm not sure, at first it looked a little photoshopped to me as well, but there are so damn many photos of the car (look at the original link) that it's probably legit.

The thing that bugs me the most about the red car is there seems to be a little Malibu Maxx feel to it. It just doesn't flow right.
