Mazda may not be as aggresive with it but it's to the point nowadays that just about any car manufacturer will hassle you about warranty work if they think you've taken the car to the track or the strip.

The funniest one is Subaru who gives you a free one year membership to the SCCA when you buy a WRX. I wonder how they would react if I took my car in and told them I blew the tranny at a Solo2 event :p

However Mitsubishi almost seems to be like Big Brother when it comes to this stuff. There was a similar story of a dealer sending people to the local drag strip on certain nights and taking down plate numbers of the Mitsubishi's that were there.

I do not and will not post the mods I may or may not have on my car :p It's just too easy for a manufacturer or dealer to go to a popular web forum and put pieces together.

I swear, as much as I don't want to own one it's stuff like this that makes me want to go out and buy an SRT-4 just to support Chrysler. What Mopar and Dodge are doing is really incredible and they need to be commended for it. Staged upgrades and mods that are fully covered under warranty and are a good price, the other car manufacturers need to wake up and realize this is the wave of the future.

Yep, it would be sweet if Mazda had staged upgrades for the 8 that were all factory warrantied.

Who here wouldnt get a 50+RWHP supercharger for a couple grand that was fully under the warranty of the car? I guess we need to wait and see what the furture holds with the newer model years.

Reminds me: A lot of people on this forum list the Canzoomer ECU mod in their signatures or otherwise. I think that is unwise: I don't have the mod, but if I did, I would shut up about it.

jeez that is like as low as you can go. how are you gonna sell cars that are made for racing then not honor warranties when the cars are pushed?

ike is right as usual. i hate the srt4 but you have to respect dodge for standing behind it.

Ahh but the 13B-REW were popping left and right at the time. So far the RENESIS is damn solid.

BMW was doing this last year. i assume they still are. these damn computers can/do track/record everything the car does. i know one RX8 owner on the forum here who's service tech asked him if he had tracked the car. the reason he asked was because he could tell from the PCM that the left front wheel had travelled 13% more than the right front wheel. figured he had to have been turning that way an awful lot to show that much difference.

heh.. wouldn't try them. They promote the use of the nav units, it even DISPLAYS everything, turn by turn when you are driving. Its technically illegal to drive with that screen anywhere in sight of the driver.....

Mitsubishi as an automobile company is doomed. After all the recent publicity about them covering up major safety issues with their cars to avoid recalls, and now this, why would anyone buy one of their pieces of junk now?

With the Hondas you're talking lots of money for minimal gains though.
