Mazda makes sports cars that dont compete in that arena with current vehicles...the FD was the last vehicle to do so.....

The MS3 is a good sign..but the mazda 3 is a new vehicle and has no REAL history where as RX and Miatas do...so drastically changing them isnt going to come by so easily
Are you saying the next Mazdaspeed Miata will not be faster then the current S2000? If it isn't then that means it will be slower then the Speed 3 and Speed 6, and be slower then it's competitors the Solstice GXP and Sky Redline? That's not gonna be good for Mazda. This next Speed Miata, needs to compete with the 260hp Solstice and Sky, and if they don't they are in trouble. However, that will make it faster then an S2000 as well CLEARLY, and a Speed 3, and a Speed 6. You totally lost me man.

So are you saying this next Mazdaspeed Miata will be slower then all these cars, the Speed 3, Speed 6, Solstice GXP, SKy Redline, and Honda S2000? THat makes no sense, nor does this thread you wrote. Please clarify here

Putting the renesis in the Miata would destroy the Miatas rep once the rotaries start failing . The Miatas' strong point is that it's a fun inespensive car to buy and maintain. Once it's hit with rotary maintenance issues the Miata brand would sink. A better idea...offer a rotary option as a special order for enthusiasts, not to be sold at dealers physically. Have order MX-5 and have Mazda send it to outside source who then swaps piston for rotary and other parts and offers their own warranty or makes a deal with Mazda to honor warranty. Have Mazda service these MX-5s as RX-8s.

This would also make these specific Miatas more valuable. But never offer rotary MX-5s from the factory.

Some how I don't think that's going to be a problem. Mazda is not going to offer a rotary in a MX5. They may put one in a Kabura/rx7 but not the MX5 (rx5).

I don't think Mazda can afford to have more than two rotary cars at a time, but that would be really sweat.

I posted last year that Chief Designer of the MX-5 said half way through it's model cycle a 2.3 DI may be offered.... so it looks like his comment may come true.
I would imagine that a Mazdaspeed MX-5 or MX-5 MPS would be exported to all countries.
