Yeah MS6 is their flagship car, complimented with plenty of horsepower, and to think the new MS3 is getting the MS6's engine.......I can't wait! As for interior/interior design, the current Mazda3 and even the new Honda Civic have some of the nicest interior/design I've seen in the "cheaper car" price range.

Oh and by the way, my dealer told me very confidently that the Rx-8 is not going to be made anymore. Has anyone else heard this?? I told him that the 2006 model is on the web, and he said "This is the 8's last year, they're not making them anymore cause they can't sell them"??

The dealer doesn't know that and he's just speculating. However, I feel that '06 will be the RX-8s last year as well.

So nobody is really sure if this rumor is true? I know you guys doubt the dealer's claim, but is anybody here more informed about this whole, "Rx-8 is not being made anymore cause they're not selling", statement that my dealer made VERY confidently?

There's also rumors of more engine displacement and a facelift for the 2007 rx8, along with others. The rx8 seems to be paying Mazda's bills globally anyway.

Dealers are morons and are always making BS claims.

NOt a single squeak nor rattle. No switches have come loose. The interior plastic doesn't look, feel, nor sound like it comes off the same assembly line as the cheap plastic of computer cases. Mazda has never left me on the side of the road either. I can't even say that about Honda!

Considering you're driving an Evo and used to drive a WRX, it is more than obvious that you care little about your car's styling, nor interior design. A bit biased aren't we Ike...

I do care about my cars styling and happen to like the styling of the WRX and Evo quite a bit. Many other people do as well and I get a ton of compliments. I can't count the number of times people are checking out my car when I go out to the parking lot, happened to me twice yesterday, once it was two really cute college girls.

I also care a lot about my interior design, but moreso the function of the design. No, the Evo interior isn't pretty to look, but the quality of things like the seats, steering wheel and the placement of all the important things is topnotch. I'm not biased, I just have different priorities.

You should make the bet with nucleus. He's not only claiming the 8 will be around in 2007, but that it's going to get higher displacement.

Has the MS6 really 'officially' replaced the RX-8 as the flagship model?

I mean, at least the RX-8 has rear wheel drive. How many flagship model sports cars have front wheel drive?

I still think the RX-8 is the flagship car, the Mazda 6 is more a bread and butter car and the MS6 is just a sportier works version.

Which is the most reliable, the 3? I really liked the 3, I test drove it the other day while I was getting my tires rotated on my 8. Really smooth ride, I definetly didn't notice my speed. My Rx-8 might get traded soon but it's not going to be easy to give it up. I wish there were better and more reliable mods out right now for the 8. And if my dealer is right about the 8 not being built anymore, the mods probably wont be factory made anytime soon.

The MS6 is not front wheel drive.

Yeah it's split awd, I think the majority of the power is in the front and the rear wheels spin when you need traction, can you adjust the power to the rear wheels like the WRX?

well, the ms6 defaults to fwd unless there is a loss in traction. Apparently this is the ford/volvo system, which is set up as such.

Like I said above. My question was, can you adjust the power manually to the rear wheels like the WRX?

no, and i don't think you can do that in the wrx anyhow. The STI maybe, but not the wrx

Per Subaru:

Continuous AWD: WRX models equipped with 5-speed manual transmission, utilize a viscous-type limited-slip rear differential with torque distribution normally configured at a 50/50-split front-to-rear. If wheel speed differs between front and rear axles, the system helps distribute power to the wheels with the most traction.
Variable Torque Distribution (VTD) All-Wheel Drive: WRX models, equipped with 4-speed automatic transmission, utilize an electronically controlled variable transfer clutch in conjunction with a viscous-type limited-slip rear differential. Torque distribution is normally configured at a performance-oriented rear-wheel-biased 45/55 split front-to-rear. Sensors monitor parameters such as wheel slippage, throttle position and braking to help determine torque distribution to the wheels with optimum traction.

Isn't it the WRX STi or is it just STi? I think you definetly can adjust power to the rear wheels manually in the WRX Sti.

Anyway I'd love to see that same feature in the new Mazdaspeed 3.

Cute college girls? are you sure they're not 300+ lbs and/or just talking to each other that "yuck, that big wing looks like crap"

Dont get me wrong tho, I like WRX/STi/EvO too. but just a thought

well technically it is the wrx sti, but in common parlance(sp? ) when you say wrx you mean non sti and when you say sti you mean not the lower model wrx. Hence my confusion, the sti has a driver control center diff.

Considering I spoke to them for about 10 minutes I know exactly what they were saying about my car...
