Speaking of VW has anyone gone to their web site to build a new GTI, then watched the created "Joyride" video? It's really funny. Definetly check it out. Make sure you have your volume turned up! http://www.vwfeatures.com/

how about that z4 M coupe, looks orgasmic. I think BMW will be my next car in about a year or so and god willing, one of the M series.

Yeah me too if I could afford it. I always wanted an "M" series. M5 is sick.

I get a sense that VW is just not reliable. I think the MS3 is definitely the better choice.

Another reason I want the MS3 is cause I can't find any justification to add any parts to my Rx-8. For example: Mazdaspeed sport cart back exhaust, no real performance gain at all just sound. Mazdaspeed Cold Air Intake: No performance gains as well or at least none are advertised.Turbo: I don't trust any that are currently on the market. The MS3 will have all the things that I want on my Rx-8 and I wont have to take any chances adding anything or wasting money on sound which I don't really care about.

With the problems Mazda has had with the MS6 engine, and other turbocharged engines in the past I'll trust VW in this instance. Though as a whole their reliability ratings are usually lower.

Did you even read the thread, we're talking about the Caliber here. Anyhow, the Caliber and the MS3 are both ugly if you ask me, as to which is a better car I'll wait until their released before deciding that...

I cant wait to see what kind of numbers the M puts down. M3 engine with a lot less weight. Should be a beast.

Whatever that last Mazdaspeed Protege was, or wanted to be, really bit the dust.

Uh boys... I drive the JDM version. Rims are different to say the least. Performance... great torque off the line and that's about it. Damn anemic up top and the stick issue on JDM cars sucks. I do like the interior better in the Axcela/Mazda3, but the exterior is... I dunno... frumpy? unbalanced?... I doesn't look good at all angles (as much as I like the 8, I can say the same about it too, particularly with the MS bodykit on it).

Come on... check this out... http://www.autoexe.co.jp/car/Familia(BJ)/01.html This is an ugly car?

And as someone else mentioned... this damn car can handle! Even with it's lack of power, it has "fun to drive" factor. Take one for a drive on the Shuto Expressway in Tokyo sometime (appears in many auto racing video games)... it hangs those sharp, tight and narrow turns damn well. I imagine that the JDM AWD model with stick and bolt-on a turbo kit... you'd be looking at one hell of a ride.

Looking at those pics with the Caliber SRT and MS3.... I figured it out. It's the hood line... even on regular Mazda3's... the car forward of the windshield just looks stuck on the car. The lines don't flow at all. The rest of the car looks good to me... the rear, and the lines after the front wheel/ windshield back. Just something wrong with how the front end flows (or more like lack of flow) into the rest of the car.

How much power can you get out of the current 2006 Mazda 3? Do you think you can get as much power out of it as the 2007 Mazdaspeed 3 will have stock? I almost bought a 2006 Mazda 3, it's my favorite hatch.

I know it's 160hp but you could probably get alot more out of that engine. Does anyone know what the max results are with turbo and exhaust?

200+ try Mazda3 forums. There is a turbo kit from PR (I think) for the 2.3L engine for both the Mazda3 and Mazda6.

Don't the ranger and the b2300 also share the 2.3? I wonder if there are superchargers/turbos for those platforms?

Thanks for telling me to search the Mazda 3 forum, it's always awesome when you try to keep the discussion going and someone chimes in to tell you to search or go to another forum. Thanks again for the info, you should sign up to be a moderator and tell people that there's a thing called google......then we can just close down the whole Rx-8 club!!!

Supercharger!!, I bet you could get some awesome performance outta that 3. I bet you could get more engine performance than the 8 pretty easily. The turbo is more realistic but i'm in favor of the 3 with a supercharger!! Anyone else think that the 2006 Mazda 3 is best hatch in it's price range? I'm trying to convince my girlfriend to get it instead of the civic hatch. I let her see the pic of the Mazdaspeed 3 and she loved it, if she waits and buys the Mazdaspeed 3 i'm gonna be super jealous.
