Smoking turbo yay
I wonder how the I6 will compare to the German units. After all, it's the first time Mazda does an I6.
Looks like something to look forward to from Mazda.

Yes the report looks sad - focusing on cost savings through partnerships and now looking to China for the true growth. In 2015 I was all over my RX-8 find and I'm truly happy with the car. When I go to to replace the other car, I don't find anything exciting from Mazda - mainly because they don't offer WHAT I WANT - engine with turbo and MT and 4 usable seats. BMW doesn't even off this anymore unless you get the M3 ($$$$$).
The current SkyActive engine has been good for Mazda for their plain vanilla cars.

With Toyota's budget, Mazda engineers could probably welcome Elon Musk to Mars with a locally sourced shrimp buffet.

Fox News reports that the new CX-nn cars will use the new I6 engine and they mention a sports car. SPORTS CAR kiddies. Very interested.

After that, the midsize two-row CX-70 and three-row CX-90 will be added to the lineup, the latter replacing the CX-9 and both using a new chassis with an inline-six-cylinder turbocharged engine with electric assist that will also underpin a rear-wheel-drive sports sedan.

I applaud Mazda for trying to keep it's sole sedan offering alive by injecting RWD and I6 tech. Will it be under the Mazda6 model or Mazda60?
Alas, it is pretty evident that Mazda will probably end up as a pure SUV maker with the exception of the Miata. I do not think the sedan segment will survive much longer unless it becomes a fastback.

Yes - but several sources said that the I6/RWD may be used in future luxury cars including sports and sedan cars. We shall see - right?
