Yup, Pretty sure this Only applies to "Skyactiv" cars with MZD Connect or Mazda Connect and YES it sucks big time...
Mazda AU did have a 'Genuine' hands free kit ($500) for NC (Miata owners) and Series 2 RX-8 owners that was plugged in under the dash somewhere, BUT was expensive and cheap at the same time...lol..., and my contacts said reliability was bad and better off buying a eBay $30 hands-free unit that plugs into FAG Lighter, which I did. But what annoys me more is Mazda takes SO LONG to do things, and SLOW. First the breakthrough in Second Gen Mazda's is they factory install a 12V Plug in the S2 RX-8 and NC2 Miata, but no USB Ports, then not until Skyactiv did we see any USB ports and Car Smart Phone use, most other brands had this 2-3 years prior. Sucks that we don't have the Bluetooth music streaming ability. With my factory touch screen, it shows the BT streaming option, but it's always grayed out. Even weirder, Mazda 3 of the same year had the ability. I just use the AUX cable, or you have those hipster smartphones without an AUX port, I also have a BT to AUX adapter in the centre console. I guess a USB port could be good if you have those AUX-less smartphones, but I get my music through Sirius XM. Is that a thing in Australia? |
Nope no factory BT for my S2 Lux, I think it came in in 2011 with Sat Nav screen etc.
No Sirius XM (Sat) here we get DAB+ (only later Skyactiv) You can use Pandora if you want via Phone (data). Yep, I use AUX port and BT adapter for Phone calls and Streaming BT Music from phone. Hate free to air channels here and the crap they play. Ads with Music. |
Defientley a rotary powered car i can see myself owning one day |

My 2011 GT has BT, but only for hands-free calling, and it does not work well. I also use a BT adapter into the aux port for music.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/mazda-rx-...120002493.html Now if this comes out, I hope Mazda is smart enough to offer it in manual trans. Yes, I know modern automatics are good, and no, I don't give a crap. |

Here's the original article that is 100% speculation from a click-bait website. They don't say anything about the source of the render. They do not claim it's from Mazda. Just a total BS article.
https://www.motor1.com/news/249330/m...tary-comeback/ Keep that vain hope alive, you know. Some of the renditions are actually pretty nice. |
I hear ya. If that render became a real car with a Wankel driving the rear wheels, a proper manual trans, and a realistic price tag, I'd be pounding on a Mazda dealer's door shaking fists full of money at them.

Just build the fucking car already.

Just a video filmed in Italy a couple of weeks ago (Como Lake) , a lot of details showed
Sorry gentlemans, it's a piston powered car :yelrotflm |

280HP. Really though, include a stick shift option and we are cool. |

Now that sounds like a "poor man's BMW", which is some people call Mazda.
Really though, include a stick shift option and we are cool. average engine: 3 cylinder diesel...around mighty 120HP believe me....a 280hp RWD 6 in line sporty sedan is a "rich man's BMW", at least here in Europe. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx8...bcf9cc957.jpeg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx8...720db05f7.jpeg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx8...5b742af2f.jpeg |

They are called Honda Fit/HR-V, Mazda 2/CX-3, Toyota Yaris Hatch/CH-R. I actually don't have anything against these vehicles. They may be ugly, they are cheap, reliable(the Japanese offerings at least, not sure about the German ones with everything being over-engineered), practical, easy to park, and can even be fun sometimes. I talked to two Mazda 2 owners. Both of those are 5-speed and they had nothing but good things to say about it. Anyway, with the Vision Coupe, I could dig it if comes with the setup you mentioned, plus a stick shift option. No excuses here. If Honda Accords can still have stick shift options outside of bottom trim here in North America, anything that dares to call itself a sports car should as well. It would also be nice if it's a fastback with a hatch; have a rich friend with an Audi RS7 and that fastback hatch is slick and practical at the same time. |

So BMW(and I assume MB and Audi as well) do more economical cars in Europe? They only have luxury offerings in North America, so the "Mazda = Poor Man's BMW" more applies to North America than it does in Europe, I guess.
BMW X1 - Starts around $33,000 and based on a FWD Mini Countryman platform " X2 - Same as above but in a less practical "coupe CUV" form " 230i - Starts under $35,000 " 320i - Starts under $35,000 I see these models surface more frequently in public that I see their 6cyl vehicles. Same applies to Audi's A3 and Merc's CLA. These are models based on FWD econoboxes, and they are flooding the American market. |
One more step forward for the Vision aka RX-9: https://www.nbcnews.com/business/aut...ndards-n896846
