I'm asian, so I'm going to be making a chicken hotpot with fresh chicken pieces in a herbal soup with lettuce and other fixings. I'm gonna drag the big screen TV right in front of the dining table so I'll be watching it while I'm eating my chicken hotpot!
Christmas has come early, can't wait until the reveal!!!
"Mazda design boss Ikuo Maeda added that the concept "represents our dream, but we don't want it to be a dream too long"
Neither Do I

Then he goes on to say "Some time in the future it will return and be called SkyActiv-R". Who knows how far away "the future" is...
I admit that "SkyActiv-R" is kind of catchy.
Assuming that AutoCar isn't just making up that whole story, Kiyoshi Fujiwara allegedly said "People think rotary can not meet modern Eco demands." Yep, that's what I think.

They have mentioned "Sky-R" several times in the past few years.
At least that autocar article isn't full of outlandish "it will have", but more realistic discussion of the challenges and some direct quotes.
This piece seems to confirm what I've been assuming:
Also this:
...confirms that this is style only. And I'd also take it as proof that they are definitely working on the car as a whole. Still early, but not "dead".

This piece seems to confirm what I've been assuming:
"It is a two-door, two-seater. It is a pure sports car design. We have MX-5 and another icon is a rotary sports car. We haven't talked about market reach but this would be in that segment."
"If I say anything about [launch] dates I put too much pressure on our engineers. I want to avoid putting pressure on them. I would like to hear feedback on the design of the vehicle.
Umm-dee-dum tap tap tap ummm ummm .. just waiting ... NOTHING TO DO!
So...let's see..
(For your listening enjoyment - turn it UP!) some while-we-wait, back-in-the-day flashback vids)

Just another source.. I literally gasped and whimpered a bit at my desk when I read it:
Mazda Confirms Their Sports Car Concept Will Have A New Rotary Engine Called 'SkyActiv-R'

I already see people saying that it had better have 400 hp and be able to keep up with Corvettes. Those people are going to be sadly disappointed. A realistic expectation is around 275 hp or so (a true rating this time please!) with a car weighing sub 2700 lbs and it needs to stay well under $40K. That's a realistic expectation. This is only a concept anyways so we'll see but I'd be happy if it falls into that area.
