Mazda Racing- Motor Trend Article

found this this morning. All about Mazda's promotion of racing from the grass roots level..

http://blogs.motortrend.com/6202380/...zda/index.html

An inspiring number of Mazda USA employees race, and they are involved with MazdaSpeed Motorsports programs because this is what they are about as enthusiasts. No corporate mandate can accomplish that; it has to come from the passion of people. And the folks here in North America are showing other Mazda entities around the world how it’s done, with less staff than it takes to run even one of Toyota’s new NASCAR efforts. The Mazda boys and girls have a ton of SCCA, NASA, IMSA, and NHRA championships to show for it.

I knew Mazda was serious about racing but 50%?

Wow.

I hope it pays off for them in sales because I love those races.

Cool stuff.

50% sounds about right since the Miata is the most raced production car in the world.

Good read...

I wonder if Jeremy Barnes could be a Mazda "STIG" on weekends or racedays...

Toyota designers should do some racing--their cars are deathly bland and boring. However, it seems that many Americans prefer contemporary Buicks.

Not as much as contemporary Chinese (more Buicks are sold in China every year than the US).
