Lightbulb Mazda NAO OPENS NEW Part Center in Texas!

http://www.autoobserver.com/2011/08/...-in-texas.html

Mazda North America announced today the opening of its Dallas/Fort Worth Parts Distribution Center (PDC). According to Mazda, the new center, located in Grapevine, Texas, will supply $10 million in parts inventory to more than 100 dealers across the Southwest U.S. and Mexico, and host a state-of-the-art training center for service technicians. The facility, one of several that Mazda will open across North America over the next year, will create 30 full-time jobs in the area. The launch of the Dallas PDC is one of the first milestones in a $20 million parts distribution expansion that Mazda announced to its dealers in July 2010. The expansion will create a network of seven Parts Distribution Centers in North America -- five in the U.S. and two in Canada.

"Mazda is thrilled to expand our presence in Dallas/Fort Worth with this new Parts Distribution Center, enabling us to fulfill orders quickly and efficiently, as well as provide a regional supply of parts and training opportunities," said Jim O'Sullivan, president and CEO of Mazda North America (above, right). "Once fully operational, this distribution center will enhance customer service and satisfaction levels throughout the Southwest, as well as reduce our carbon footprint through more efficient delivery planning and tracking, all of which are important Mazda commitments."

They recently opened a PDC in McDonough GA as well providing me with most items that I don't stock by next business day. I love it, as it helps me help others.

These are important steps for Mazda NAO. Now I wish they would assemble some cars in one of the business friendly states as well.

Paul.

Since it is in Texas and supports 100 dealers, I doubt it. It won't help you until they open a couple in the N.E. US.
I know the parts for my area come from Alabama. There is a truck that comes up almost every day and the dealers rely on that. They don't stock too many parts.

Hopefully they will train tech's on the RX-8. Most tech's I've met at Mazda dealerships don't know jack crap about our car.

Interesting PRESS Release from MNAO....

Press Release

- Use of aftermarket parts may jeopardize performance, safety and durability -

IRVINE, Calif. (August 12, 2011) -

Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) recommends that all maintenance and collision repairs be performed using Genuine Mazda Parts in order to provide an optimum level of performance, safety and durability. Genuine Mazda Parts are made from the same blueprint as the original parts found in production vehicles, ensuring that each part is guaranteed to perform seamlessly and wear the same as the day the vehicle was built.

MNAO does not recommend the use of aftermarket parts (or imitation parts) for any Mazda maintenance or collision repair. These aftermarket parts are generally made to a lower standard in order to cut costs and lack the testing required to determine their effectiveness in vehicle performance and safety. Without access to original manufacturing specifications, their fit and finish can also be dramatically different.

Only Genuine Mazda Parts purchased from an authorized Mazda dealer are specifically covered by the Mazda warranty. The original warranty could become invalid if aftermarket parts contribute to the damage of original parts. Even lease-end charges can be affected if the replacement parts fit poorly. MNAO will not be responsible for any subsequent repair costs associated with the vehicle or part failure caused by the use of parts other than Genuine Mazda Parts purchased from an authorized Mazda dealer.

Mazda North American Operations is headquartered in Irvine, Calif. and oversees the sales, marketing, parts and customer service support of Mazda vehicles in the United States, Canada and Mexico through nearly 900 dealers. Operations in Canada are managed by Mazda Canada, Inc., located in Ontario; and in Mexico by Mazda Motor de Mexico in Mexico City.

Mazda Australia's ALL new Parts Centre

Meanwhile........

Since Mazda Australia's bitter divorce from Ford Australia's Part Operations (when Ford became no longer the big boss)...Mazda Australia is in the process of moving their huge stocks to a new location and warehouse in Victoria (Melbourne)....60,000 Square Feet.

With no more Ford involvement...just like it was almost 10 years ago...Mazda on their own.

No more Mazda Parts Dealers being supplied a Ford Falcon Door Shell instead of a Mazda 3., etc, etc , etc........

Here are some pic taken recently...

Moving in sometime in October... think..
