Mazda N. America May Sales UP despite industry down turn
Mazda was up 4.2% in May versus a year ago , its best May in 12 years. Despite the announcement of an all-new Mazda6 in just a few months the Mazda6 sales were UP 9.1% for MAY
Mazda3 up 30% with Mazda5 up 49% Even CX9(+29%) and TRIBUTE9+13) were both up.
CX-7,RX-8 and MX-5 all down. RX-8 just 309 sold and MX-5 down to just over 1300
That CX-7 number could see a turn around if the rumors i hear about a non-turbo engine being available soon are true.
MNAO is up 1.9% for the year to date.

The Mazda6 is a great vehicle. My daughter's '02 still impresses me in its bang for the buck. Her 4-cyl is fuel efficient yet cruises nicely at highway speeds.
Wow, the RX-8 certainly is a niche car. No wonder I rarely see another (which is a good thing).

Since it tends to attract relatively knowledgeable owners I'm sure a lot of them know the '09 is a new generation with a small facelift and were waiting on it either to reduce the price of new '08s or to get the '09 itself.
Or I just tell myself that to make myself feel confident that Mazda will keep making us rotaries.
