Cx-5 is in almost perfect time to market, the perfection will be if the car was in stores in spring....

I hate SUVs /crossover, please Mazda build still good looking "traditional" cars....

wasnt there some talk awhile ago that the NA guys really wanted a new RX and the Europeans really wanted the CX-5 so in order to get one they each had to sign off on both?

im sure i read that a year or so ago (and even posted it ) but cant find the rumor report at the moment.

next model in launch is MX-5 IMHO, this autumn? tokyo MS?

I hate crossovers, they're useless. Unfortunately Mazda is doing what's best for the company, not the enthusiasts and i can't blame them for acting like this

The addition of the 2.5 NA 4 to the CX-7 has done wonders for CX-7 sales here, up 115% in a year to 9530 units!!

Yeah, do you think it is that early (October this year) Matt for the new ND MX-5??...

I am tossing up getting a new NC Roadster (PRHT), I have always like the smooth classic styling, always wanted an MX-5, and this model is now well sorted.

Not sure I want the ND, said to be smaller in size and more aggressive to look at, plus SKY.

I will still keep my 8, and with going NC there are many parts that are the same and or interchangeable, even many electrics.

IMO the ND will have next to Zero commonality with NC and FE models parts wise....OH! maybe the odd Globe , nut or bolt.

What do you think?

Maybe for a concept Ash...a concept like Minagi stands for Cx-5.

Mx-5? always beloved...i consider this car a classic japanese sportscar, i've buyed one NA V-special for restore for a bunch of euros a year ago...fantastic car to use , my toy for my middle age.....

ND? for me is a "return to roots", i'm expecting a 1000k g car with SKY 1.5 for base engine....and a bigger engine for "top" version...

i'm very courious to see what kind of platform ND will use, the current updated or a new one, this could be a major hint for future of rotary cars

ahahaahah sorry, Ashley.

Buy a NC if you have the possibility to buy a special version (a 20th anniversary, maybe JDM edition is seem to me that having such car is not difficult in Oz.).

if not, wait a ND (i'm pretty sure that will be a special version "initial edition" like NC)

just my 2 cents

I don't find them useless. I'm a total hatchback lover, and I often wish my car was just a WEE bit bigger. I do not like huge SUV's either, and getting a sedan would cost me the versatility of a hatch.

I've looked at many many cars to consider in 2-3 years when I finally get something new, and a manual-tranny Sky-D CX5 would place in my personal top 5 if Mazda gives the US such a thing. Right now I've been eyeing the Mini Countryman, but it will be pretty expensive.

Then again, my ladyfriend has fallen in love with the Nissan Juke, so if I get her one of those, I might be free to get myself whatever the hell I please, and throw practicality out the window.

same here in EU, people (especially womens) seems to like the more "tall" driver's position, and the more sense of security of those veichles (i don't agree with both thing, but so is the reality)

huge SUV have a big problem with fuel consumption and for find a park space.

They are not even that agile when it comes to city traffic and i would love to see what happens if a suv hits me in my little spark...
They're heavy and dangerous, they may be safe for who's driving them but their stopping distance and stability is just crap.

+1

My wife and I got one of those, the non-turbo increased the mileage enough for her to listen to me, and buy a crossover that doesn't suck.
