manual and auto?

What Do you guys think in General which one is more likely for a problem to occur, on a manual car or auto? Specially powertrain. Like for a same car which one would you buy to visit the mechanics less than the other?

Well with a manual you always have the potential of having issues with the clutch I guess.

But manuals are so much more fun to drive!

I would say an auto is less likely to screw up over a manual, but only if the driver doesn't know his or her way around a stick. The auto will be much more expensive to repair when it does crap out though. I'd still take a stick over a slushbox any day.
