Low RPM high compression Apex Seals
#26
According to this guy that we refer to sometimes as the professor around here, those seals are interesting but highly impractical. The only possibility of their application would be some very slow RPM pump. There were also quite a few flaws in his analysis and comparisons between the rotary and piston engines but otherwise well done. He deserves an A on his paper especially for effort.
As for the Hurley 4 mm seals being applied to a Renesis, that won't happen either. As I've stated before there are fantastic seals already available for the Renesis which are the Iannetti Ceramics sold by Mazda Competion Parts. They won't make you increased low RPM torque or improve your fuel economy but they are good for more torque upstairs (Equalling more hp) and they will retain this behavior for indefinite periods of time. They are gentle on the housings and on the rotors and require less oil metering. These are just some of the benefits.
Those are the facts.
Paul.
