There's also the Saab 9-3 SportCombi.

Well I decided on the Legacy GT wagon and OMFG this is becoming a nightmare. Not a single one in CA. In fact I'm about to fly out to Illinois to pick one up that I like. What an ordeal!

Drive up the border and buy a Canadian Legacy GT wagon. The 08 has a nicer more JDM-ish front bumper too. Not to mention Si-Drive, new centre console etc...

The '08 is definitely nicer than an '05/'06 but it's also $25k+ IIRC. Too much. Right now I'm looking at an '05 GT limited for $15k and an '05 GT with fewer miles and a 100k mile warranty for $16.5k. Ironically both cars are private party sales located about 100 miles from each other in Illinois.

FYI, if you plan to Cobb AP the LGT which I think it is hard to resist, you might wanna know that the 07+ uses an air pump therefore no need for an uppipe change to get to stage II (along with dp, TB of course). One less thing to modify.
www.legacygt.com is your friend. all the best. We nearly bought a 2.5i Touring wagon but alas, the Mazda6 GT wagon was too tough to pass up for the same price.

Thanks for the info Delhi. That forum is great. I fly to Illinois next Friday to pick up an '05 LGT wagon limited. Found a great deal on a one-owner private party sale. Everything checks out.

Dealerships can suck it. Seriously. It never ceases to amaze me what goes in one ear and out the other with some of these guys. How are you gonna list a car on Autotrader or Cars.com, list no asking price, and when I email asking for info I get this "call me at (XXX) XXX-XXXX for the best prices in the tri-state area, we won't be beat, ask for Ahmed, thanks for inquiring".

WTF! Don't ever call them or give them your number! What's even worse is, now that I've already wrapped up the sale of the new car, they WON'T...STOP...EMAILING. Of course no asking price has ever been mentioned, although all assure me they'll beat any price I've been given. I hate car salesmen. Most are unapologetic charlatans. They make the rest of us in sales look like conniving thieves. Oh well. Here she is...

Sweet. Tint it! Switch out those RE92s. Cobb AP it and head for Stage II and don't look back!

The tires are actually new BF Goodriches. He told me that on the phone Friday night. Tint is a definite possibility. Unfortunately the wifey hath decreed a "mod moritorium" on this car since it's primary function is daily driver and baby transportation. I think I may sneak in a nice CB exhaust if the right opportunity presents itself however. I've always loved that boxer rumble.

There are many ways to go Stage II but still look and sound stock. Your wifey will never know. hehehehe.... the EJ25t is too easy an engine to leave it stock especially with the Cobb AP.
