Lexus ES 350

Ok, I'm not very old, but sports car don't appeal to me as they once did. For my next car, I'm looking for something that I can put a baby seat in the back and something that I can relax in and is fuel efficient. I love the style of the ES 350, especially in white and tint all around. I don't see a lot of people driving it (I like the exclusivity). Is it because its an overpriced Camry? I won't be getting rid of the 8, but just like to dream about my next car! Anyone have any opinions on this car?

I've driven one a couple of times. Interior quality and design is top notch - much nicer and quieter than any toyota. The ride is very soft so don't expect anything in the way of a sports sedan a la anything BMW makes. Also, the steering is artificially light IMO. I could see how some people would like it, but it would be a pretty dramatic change from the 8. If that's what you're lookin for though, you could do much worse than an es.

^ I find the IS 350 too small. And I don't want to compete with you on the road!

You should consider the G35 or possibly the new Maxima. Both will provide superior perfomance and strong mpg. I have not seen one in person but the new mazda 6 looks really nice and has something like 275 hp.
Good luck.

The TSX is smaller than the Accord. The Accord is marginally smaller than an ES.
How about a Caddy STS or CTS?
My grandfather owns an ES. He loves it. He is 79.

Wait for the new Mazda6 it has recieved praises form all the magazines. Other than that I love the IS series but since you say its too small then check out the 6. Personally I find the stiling of the ES too bland.

Ok, I guess it is only me then haha.. I just think its got some sleek lines, nothing wierd like the new Maxima. I think it's probably the nicest looking full-size family sedans. The added fact that it's relatively rare draws me to it... like what the 8 did to me (amongst other things). All the new Acuras look wierd to me with that new shield design. The other sedan I'd love to get that I can't afford is the Infiniti M45 or an Audi A6.

If you like it that's all it matters. That's great. You are already much better off than the other guy who keeps posting on the board asking whether to buy an rx-8 or not. what model, what year, what colour etc.

To me that car is the definition of BLAND. Maybe in the right color with some decent wheels. Then again I think most of Toyota/Lexus line up is bland with the IS being the only exception. Some people prefer this look/style (or lack of) though. You can get a '08 Acura TL 258hp 5sp-auto for like $32K(which doesn't have the shield grill) but I would want something at least RWD which in that case a G35 comes to mind but that's me. I was going to suggest an A6 as well but the prices would be steep. Get what you like though and good luck.

Definitely not my segment, but if I was in the mood for luxury sedan, I'd consider Genesis.

If RWD was not a factor, I'd consider a fully loaded Mazda6 and save a lot of cash.

Have you driven both? I have an ES350 as a loaner today and it feels like a tank in comparison to the IS

That's a Lexus ES350, not a Camry. And yeah, it's bland.... Camry looks better IMO.

This is a Camry:

If you were serious, it's understandable how you can mistake it as it's almost the same thing. I was behind a previous generation ES (ES300) at lunch today and I would have to say the new ES looks quite a bit better. The old ES300 looked really generic. I like the Camry's stronger character lines and slimmer headlamps out of the two though but you don't get to say you own a Lexus.

I thought that all of the pictures were of a Camry at first...
