Lancia Delta Integrale Evolution

Lancia Delta Integrale Evolution
Yeah, I posted it in another thread, but it's badass. I just found out that in Canada, a car 15 years old, or greater, doesn't have to meet or bumper/lights etc standards which usually thwart the importation of cool cars. So, now I could import this...
What the EVO and STi should be!!

There are spares available, but you have to get them from Europe. There is a very reliable Lancia aftermarket and parts supplier in England known as Omicron.

They're not exactly great in the reliability department.
I'd rather get a Mazda 323 GT-R:
Just as fast but more reliable. (I actually did have one and put 230,000 km on it without major issues, then lend it to a co-worker who then crashed it - never lend your car to anybody.)

Funny you say that's "what the Evo and STi should be", they would absolutely eat the Delta alive on any surface, as would a regular WRX. Hell even a stock STi or Evo would probably give an old group B S4 a run for its money around a tight rally course like you see today in the WRC. They're cool cars and I respect rally history more than anyone, but don't make them out to be something they're not. For those not in the know, the death of Lancia driver Henri Toivonen is in large part what led to group B being being banned in 1986.
If you want the best car that was made as a result of homologation (besides the Sti and Evo of today), it's probably the Ford RS200 or Cosworth Escort.

But in Rally trim...dayum it was mean...
Ike...Which Audi models were a result of homogolation? I know they've probably had at least a few honorable mentions in the mid 80's..

Here is a wicked page for WRC photos

you need to sign in, but it's worth it. Lots of other car pics too.
And, I'm still looking for WRC seasons on DVD if anyone knows where to get them.

The only homologation car audi had was the Audi Sport Quattro, it was pretty impressive.

I wonder what would happen if they brought Group B back with a 1600cc displacement limit. Could one of these manufacturers manipulate a reliable WRC friendly 500whp+ out of a block that small. IMHO they should have restricted Group B with common sense handicaps rather than put it out to pasture. People loved the "no limts" and out-of-the-box approach manufacturers could use to showcase their cars and their engineering prowess.

I'll concede that the WRC cars would be faster than group B on a modern rally stage due to the fact that the stages have a max allowable average speed of 120 kph. The WRC cars have superior suspension and torque, but the group B cars are 360 kg lighter and have 150+ more hp. But would the current production Evo and STi beat a group B car? I don't think so, even with their superior suspension.
