I just wish when it does come out it will have the optional rotary in there, if not I will be happy with the DISI in there as a rwd as well.

I know I'm going to get flamed for this but I wouldn't be opposed to seein the MS3 engine or the new Mazda 6 engine in there. talk about ZOOM ZOOM!!

Let's be real....Mazda will sell a TON of these if they make it rwd and add one of those engines. The MORE cars mazda sells + the MORE money in the bottom line = more Rotary improvements.

Why would they show this car at a rotary car event if they didn't intend to sell it with rotary? As far as I know (I have never been to Sevenstock), they haven't featured or even displayed a piston motored model.

That was what many people were saying on Saturday. A few reasons off the top of my head.

1) We really wanted to see this car last year and didn't get to. Better late then never...

2) The new RX-7 concept does look like it took some styling queues from the Kabura. Maybe giving us something to think about?

3) Guaging interest in some of the lines off the car to see if a similar rotary powered car would be appealing to us? (Overwhelming YES to that one)

Everyone wants a rotary in the Kabura. That's why they showed it.

You just missed the 1.55 L version.

From what we were told, the Kabura was there so "we could get used to seeing many of the design aspects". Rotary owners are Mazda's most loyal customers and they drive sports cars. It makes sense to show the car off to these customers. Especially if we are going to have a rotary powered car that is based on many of the design cues.

I never said the 1.55L was a Kabura.

The MS3 engine would be be sweet in the Kabura.
