Nissan car of the future?

Please, God, let me die before this becomes the typical car:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/japan_nissan_car_tech1_dc

If you can't deal with parallel parking or reverse, how did you manage to get a license in the first place? To me this is a solution looking for a problem. And it's ugly as sin. What's it's 1/4-mile time? How is it on the twisties? Can I put some 20's on it?

It looks like something from "The Undersea World of Jaques Cousteau".

Either that, or an episode of "Pokemon".

"You can go everywhere without worrying about your driving skills." The car is as yet not for commercial sale.

Here is our problem with driving right now. Its a pet pev of mine. People buy big @ss suv's and think they are safe from the world so they don't think they have to know how to drive or that they can do anything they want and people will just get out of there way.

And now this... Just one more reason people won't bother with learning to drive. And I don't mean driving between the lines and stopping at stop signs. I mean learning driving skills. Like what to do if you start to hydroplane, start to slide on an icy road.. Cars like this are just going to cause more problems.

cliff notes - Car sucks, don't need it, learn to drive and you won't need the ugly thing.

Statistical fluke. There are fewer accidents involving Asian-Americans because they are a numerical minority here.

I'm sure the numbers would show less skew if you included statistics for Beijing or Tokyo.

Since one person out of every five in the world is Chinese, I bet that Asians get in more accidents total, than any other subgroup.

Sorry taj.

"You can go everywhere without worrying about your driving skills"

Driving a car is not like making pancakes. When you f*ck up, people die. It's not an oops-let-me-start-over situation. Everybody should know how to drive and have "driving skills"

"The futuristic, three-seat car also comes with a robotic device that Nissan said monitors the driver's expression using censors and tailors its conversation accordingly."

"Are you...?....oh my....could you wait untill...NOT ON THE SEATS....
....
....
there is a carwash 5oom ahead "

I saw that car on the discovery channel. They were talking about car designers and how it's the hardest job to break into (only about 200 designers worldwide). They had another car on there that also had AI built into it. Preatty cool they said the purpose would be to drop your kids off at school or to take the elderly to their dr. appts.
