nice... didnt know he had one. MazdaUSA recently got one didnt they? or am I mistaken?

The thing I like about leno is he at least appreciates the cars he has... a lot of the stars just go out and buy things cause they're told they're nice or classic just to look good... Leno actually knows about the cars he owns (and probably a lot about ones he doesn't own as well).

yeah - i think jay is the 3rd owner of that one which was orginally brought over by a US military guy. MNAO got theirs from a guy in Arizona and they actually drove it from AZ to Cali when they got it last year. I think that makes 3 in North America that we know about. Jay's, MNAO and it think Mazda Canada has one

Why, does it have a RENESIS engine? I don't think this was a problem with carbureted rotaries.

it's not just the renesis that flooded... I'm rather sure it's most rotaries that are notorious for the flood issues. I could be wrong though.

Well Sonny (grandpa), back in my day 70-90'S, NON Fuel Injected and FI Rotaries (R100, RX-2-5-7) can and do FLOOD!, with short cold stops.

Back then we had other issues, mainly "Fouled" Spark Plugs, like all rotaries spark plugs take a hammering, heat ,carbon and even poor quality fuels and smoky worn out rotor oil rings would stuff up spark plugs.

The problem was usually always the spark plugs and distributor points life span. It wasn't until NGK invented and made the platinum tip electrode centres (B7EM-V's) did we see a longer and better performing plug and ignition system, then electronic ignitions (RX-7) also vastly improved the rotary.
