As a former ITR owner, I would say it all depends on the theft rate in your area. I had a 1997 ITR that I loved and tracked for five years. The car is awesome--reliable, fast, tons of tuning potential, and an engineer geek's dream. (I have another one now that is a pure race car.) However, I pretty much never drove it around as my normal car because in Southern California, ITRs are targetted for theft. I've had people try to follow me home, which is not a good feeling to say the least.

So if you have a garage and you feel confident you won't have a theft problem in your city, get one. Otherwise, the paranoia can really ruin the ownership experience.

 

Duh, type R, basically the best handling FWD car EVER.

 

ITR = when Acura was truly the offspring of Honda Racing.
RSX = when Acura sold out and became a luxury division.

 

So the CL, RL, SLX, and TL were race bred cars and SUV with luxury interiors and amenities?



Makes want to buy one and hit the track.

 

Thanks for the comments guys, I am slowly pushing my freind to the Type R side! She went and checked one out on Monday, a private sale, and took it for a spin. She hasn't shut up about the sound since.

The only thing she is hung up on now, as mentioned by gansan, is the theft rate. She lives in a small apartment just outside of Toronto and it offers only outdoor parking.
