If 973 hp wasn't enough, 9ff offers GT9-R...

World's fastest car on paper. I wonder how reliable these things are...

Bonkers is a relative term, when you think about it. Case in point: the 9ff GT9. With 973 horsepower and a 409 km/h top speed – that's 254 mph, friends – this was already one bonkers supercar. And then 9ff comes along with the GT9-R, an even faster version with – wait for it – 1120 horsepower and a claimed 414 km/h (257 mph) top speed. That's enough to outgun the 412 km/h (256 mph) record set by the SSC Ultimate Aero TT to claim the top-speed crown. That's right: pending outside verification at least, this is the world's fastest car. On the way, it'll hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.9 seconds, 200 km/h (124 mph) in 7.4 and 300 (186 mph) in 14.9. Right, bonkers.

too bad this thing is not even a production car.

any car, with enough money, can be made into a supercar.

With all due respect, I would argue with that.... unless you're going to change EVERYTHING out, most cars dont have engines/suspensions/brakes/wheels/etc that can handle near that power or that speed. Yes obviously this is heavily modified, but porsches' are well known to have very high tolerances even to extreme modifications even in relatively stock form. I don't know what they did to the engine, I'm sure most of the internals are replaced, but even so. You could replace almost everything, and I highly doubt even the block of a random tuner car could take 1,100 HP. Porsches, corvettes, a handful of others, but if you want to retain even just a hint of reliability, there are only so many marque you can start with....

I would assume that enough money would include paying for engine swaps, in which case yeah, and car can be made into a supercar. Heck 1k HP isn't even a lot by supercar standards, but that thing is AWD and quite Light \ Aerodynamic so well... There ya go.

AWD is a hell of a Drug.

Well, if I am reading the article right, the car is loosely based on the Porsche. Which means it's not really an "upgraded" car.

It'd be more in competition with the Apollo and those class of cars

Yeah, there's not much Porsche left in that car. I like the form following function look of the car, too.
