I have the answer

Yes, RWD hatch that's cheap.

I saw a Toyota Starlet today and thought to myself, damn, I wish they made something like that right now.

Pretty badass. The UK has this thing, not so cheap, but mid engine, RWD

I want to see something like this come out.

That is all :D

A big enough of a demand is not there for them at the moment. Most/almost all of those cars are built for densly populated areas with very few parking spots and that are extremely gas effecient(sp?).

After saying the above, wouldn't some of those be good in New York or places like that? I guess America just doesn't care for that size of a car. We would rather do things the hard way like we always do......ha :o

Well, Mercedes is bringing their SmartCar stateside. I saw a ton of those things in Europe. They're probably great over there, people just drive them up onto the sidewalk and park them! The Smart roadster is actually pretty cool looking.

But yeah, I'd love to see a RWD cheap hatch like the AE86. Nowdays there isn't any cheap way to get into RWD (new) under 23k. Probably won't happen tho, the closest you'll see is 4wd with front torque bias.
