I took mine off at 14k miles and could have gotten a couple thousand more out of them. Rotate them often and 15k+ is possible.

When you say MBC... you mean manual boost controller??? And you say also get a reflash? Isn't that the point of the reflash is to get ecu to basically act like a dynamic mbc (and change fuel trims)... i know with scooby's if you go with a reflash like cobb you CANT have a mbc otherwise everything will ****.

Unless mbc means something else...

I've been at Gruppe-S when Mike has been tuning WRX's and STi's. On 2 occasions he's actually come into the lobby in the middle of the tune and with the car still on the dyno to tell the owner his MBC (manual boost controller) is a waste of space. One guy about two weeks ago had a big FMIC, 4" TBE, FP green turbo and making less power than other STi's with just exhaust and a tune. Mike removed the MBC, controlled boost with the ECU flash, and produced awesome numbers.

For whatever reason, the Evo is different. Maybe it's the higher boost levels. Maybe it's the MAF. I'm not sure. However since adding an MBC to my setup Mike's got this thing holding boost, consistent boost, throughout the power curve like we never could do with the ECU managing those levels.

Yes I mean manual boost controler. An MBC is better at holding boost than any reflash will be. It's also useful if you want to crank things up a bit and run race gas or turn things down a bit in different weather. They don't work well on the WRXs due to full boost partial throttle problems and the open loop/ closed loop system Suby uses.
