If it is a Scion then it isn't going to be Toyota quality, and I don't really like like the looks of it as is...

It kinda looks like a retarded 370z

But either way, it will most likely be garbage. Scion = shitty build quality. The subaru version will be the only way to go if you want this car. But as stated before, why would you want to downgrade? After the Rx8, the only choice would be a Cayman S..lol.

This may end up being the best selling car of it's type in history.
Hopefully, it will drive as well as it looks.

Toyota has been working pretty hard to bring their image back. When you look at their design spec/concept/blueprint. You will know they spent a lot of time on the body and drivetrain.

In Japan they're still selling it under Toyota's name.

Its just that their US marketing team think that only "useless spoiled kids" would ike it under Scion's badge and release it as a Scion.

For me, I liked the car, but Im not going to lower myself into the "Scion" group. no matter how good the car will be.

I rather get it as a subbie.

See this is the part I liked about Nissan and their GT-R. their Infiniti division was crying like why don't Nissan head quarters sell GT-R as an Infiniti? Well, too bad, GT-R is Nissan's legend. not Infiniti

New pics from R&T... I don't give a damn what brand it is. I'd hit it.

Exactly.

A couple more, because I'm digging this purple color.

Props to Toyota and Subaru both for opting to put an NA 2.0L 4-banger in this car... Sure you'll get embarrassed by Civics and Kias, but at least you'll look good doing it.

Selling price for the Scion FT-86 model will be $25,000 in the United States. Styling changes are expected, to "square" with the Scion brand's more boxy designs. The model is scheduled to debut in 2012.
Most Scions are fugly, I expect them to screw up the look. The concept looked really nice though, first good looking Toyota in a while.

Those new pics look horrible compared to the first concept. It looks like a Genesis Coupe now with a EVO grill tacked on the front. Also I see a little of the Citroen GT "one car's rear coming out of another car's rear". I hate that and I hope its not gonna be a new automotive trend. Looks like they are doing it in the front a little too. Ugggh

I hope they sell a brazillion of them so that you see them every single day of your life.

At that price, I'll buy two just to **** off people like you who hate the styling, and then I'll go race a Civic... I'll beat him in the turns because it's got a Porsche Cayman suspension.

So there.

If it's a Scion, it's still gonna be a Scion. I would never buy a Scion. Even though if it's the last car on earth. I'd rather get a Honda Civic.

Damn it! Anyone who make a good car, that performs, that's not price gouging the owner that buys it, is ok in my playbook.

Oh yea, if it doesn't look good...forget it. And no solid rear axle. Not to many gadgets. Good windshield I can see outa. Lightweight, no heavy tanks with useless HP tomake up for it. Oh right, decent mileage. And it should have gauges, real gauges too. Almost forgot, manual tranny, seats you can't flop around in, easy to work on and mod with cheap parts available, comfortable....and great resale value.....that's good for now....let me think....

I like the rear end almost looks wide body ish..... Who cares about the badge. Toyota hasn't had a "sports" car since the supra died. Maybe a MR2 hahaha

I think it's been decided. It's apparently going to be a Scion. They're going to reveal more information about this week at the New York Auto Show, but here's the teaser.

Projected price looks like it certainly won't be a "cheap" sports car anyway. Still, a good looking Toyota... that's not happened in a while.

Still the same --- Subbie or HELL NO.

Yep, that "Scion" badge alone is enough to turn me away.

It should drive well enough. Don't really care what badge is on it as long as it's a car that's fun.
