Angry HELP!! Skunked at point-blank range!!

Okay, long story - short: "Why is this guy practically stopping in the middle of the road?" I asked myself, as a live, squirming skunk passed from beneath the minivan (dead center). I made a quick tweak so as not to run over it, but I passed over it just as he was desperately hammering the funk button. He sprayed the underside of my car from front to back, and of course I had the air vents on fresh. My entire car reeks nauseatingly of skunk. What the hell do I do?!!! Right now the windows are all open and the garage is wide open. I figure if someone is really dumb enough to steal my car tonight - good riddance!

Does anyone have any ACTUAL experience with removing this, and not just urban myths? I'm reading online about this product called SeaYu Petrotech that is locally available that can be misted into the air duct. That's what I'm going with if I don't figure out anything better in the next 9 hours.

Oh that sucks. My dog was sprayed by a skunk and she wiped herself all over my bedsheets. It smelled unbearably awful for the next month. No matter how many times I washed them, it still smelled like toxic ****. Don't you have to bathe in like tomato sauce or something like that to get the smell out? Hopefully you won't have to do that.

haa haaaaa, car wash man, the car wash, over and over. i doubt anything other then the smell got into your vents so just let it air out. chemical degreasers are about the only thing that will get the stink juice off. none of those wifes tales or home remedies really work. especially if you are considering giving your car a tomato soup washing!. look on the bright side, no dog on the earth will chase your car now!

Skunks Suck

I know this doesn't help, but if "Misery Loves Company," see link below...

Skunks are Just Inconsiderate Whether They are Alive or Road Kill

Oh, and another reason to hate mini vans. It figures that a major tragedy of this magnitude would involve a mini van…

Bad News...

Okay, I did some research, and it's not looking good. Some guy with a big ugly yellow car had the same problem with a skunk. As you can see below, he didn't handle the situation very well.

I have a remedy.....

I work with various 'mercaptan' sulphur compounds, we use them by the ton.

Very similar to 'skunk juice' chemically.

When we take a pump apart, and it gets splashed around, the techs decontaminate using a garden sprayer, filled with DILUTED BLEACH.

Very effective, and also the ONLY way we will let them in the cafeteria! :D
