hate those DIY xenon
You can always tell whos got DIY xenon headlights from ebay or whatever.
Because they put white lightning in your eyes as they're coming up behind, or coming up to the left or right side of you.
Factory xenons are aimed down at a sharp angle. On the rx8 for example, it is cutoff so steep that you could not safely drive in an 80 mph zone at night without hitting a deer. By the time any object is actually within lighting, you will hit it no matter what at those speeds. 65 mph at night is doable; a backroad in the desert with 80 mph limits, no.
DIY folks always situate their ebay xenon lights to mimic the forward pattern of their standard headlights. Straight ahead because they are so ignorant.
It stands out sorely and lets everyone with real xenon know what an idiot those people are.
I see this on a lot of pickup trucks and mustangs. Very ghetto drivers with ghetto tastes.
I do my best to reflect-back the light, but my aim is only so-so on the fly for the time being. So I have to suffer through their ghetto nonsense until they have passed.

I need to register on some of those car forums and let them know. Because I think most of them simply don't know how they are supposed to be, not to purposely blind people.
Once they know, they would tone it down in order to make it look like it came factory.
Doesn't even look like they get fix-it tickets either. See the same ones day in, day out.

I always flash my highbeams at ricer HIDs coming my way. They can at least be considerate and re-aim their headlights, but they usually don't.
Personally I am happy with both the oems HIDs in the Infiniti and the RX8. The RX8's projectors may lack some blue hue compared to others though. The projectors in my cousins EVO IX MR creates a very nice blue tone at the cut off line, but I find that his cutoff isn't as sharp and wide as the RX8s. Again, I am content with what I have.

It is actually against the law to use any Non Factory Xenon's in my state, if the Cops catch you it will cost money and must be removed.

same here. just that cops dont do anything about it.
i see a lot of people putting HIDS in non projector housings. the effect is like the lights at the dentist's office...
its pretty retarded. i call them ******* lights. a former friend did that to his 8th gen civic. i was like ehh.. and then he wanted to paint his rims. i wanted him to go gunmetal. he wanted schoolbus yellow. so thats what we did. the paintjob came out well, but ehhh... last i know, he changed the rim color to hulk green. w/e. civics...

Here they will and do...you get a "Defect Notice" slapped on your Windscreen, to get it removed you must go to a Gov Inspection Centre, showing mods done.

My friend had a set of Silverstar lamps in his old Xterra. The truck was lifted and with the slightly brighter bulbs he had people flashing him all the time. This would actually irritate him so he would flip on this high beams until the other car would pass. This, unfortunately, shows you the mindset of many folks who poorly modify their vehicles.

Agree...misaimed headlights and bad HID jobs are crap. I also feel sorry for the folks who put in fake bluish bulbs that have 1/2 the output of more mainstream bulbs. How they see down the road is beyond me.
