Matsuda Is How You Pronounce Mazda In Japanese

Not sure what I just heard there.

 

Ma Tsu Da is how it's spelled in Japanese. Japanese swallow an "oo" sound most of the time, so it sort of sounds like Mats Da.

Tho the Japanese also mispronounce the word. It's not Japanese, but Persian, and is pronounced Maz da with emphasis on Maz with a short a sound as in "bad".


Japanese are normally pretty terrible at pronouncing foreign words do to the limited nature of how their words are constructed.
