And this is why you pay the premium for the Porsche.

GTR + Old-school Getrag 5-speed + a real clutch (remember your left foot?) = a great car.

Nissan messed up by trying to make it TOO complex. Kudos for breaking new ground, the car will be historic because of it. It's just too bad the owners have to suffer through **** like this, especially after paying a mark-up to buy one.

This is true, a handful of GTR owners who have these problems can't speak for all the owners who don't have problems with there cars.

I am just shocked at Nissan this decade with there transmissions crapping out on there cars and trucks. They never had this problem before.

I think this has been blown-up out of proportion.

I few owners that 1. Tuned their car or 2. didnt follow the instruction had some problems.

Its like everyone thinks Rotaries break all the time (we know its not true)

Just curious...is there any brand that can last the distance?
Ferrari, Lambo, bugatti, etc. Its been proven time and time again that the "flappy paddle" gear box is faster around tracks, but the durability doesn't seem like something that has yet been engineerable.

I know that more F1 & E Gear trannies has broken down compared to GTR trannies.

Why dosent everbody run around saying "Ferrari and lamborghini breaks down left and right" ?

Well, I always say when it comes to cars, pick 2: Fast, reliable, cool.

The exceptions are Porsche 911 which is all of the above and Prius which is just one of the above (I'll let you guess)

Well the 2010 model will not have LC, and there is a reflash out for the 2009 model cpu's so that they dont flow the transaxle which is apparently what is getting damaged.

After reading more of the thread it seems that the launch control isnt the issue but incredibly high trans temps are....
