Fortune Magazine: Meet the Car of the Future
fortune magazine is about as solid a source of automotive knowledge as the lounge at www.rx7club.com is a source of well tempered and thoughtful commentary on important current events.
I liked this idea, but I don't know about the "stimulant spray." How about a skunk or rotten egg smell? The threat of that would keep you awake better, I bet.
Eye Monitoring for Drowsiness
Starting next year, 18-wheelers will be outfitted with eye scanners to monitor truck drivers' blinking rates and pupils for drowsiness or inebriation. When the technology gets to cars, designers expect windows to roll down automatically, stimulant to be sprayed from air vents, and a rumbling steering wheel to jolt drivers to attention.
