I'm having some trouble understanding Ford marketing and advertising strategies. First commercial to come out: Bill Ford announces that he's taken back complete control of the company, he shows pride in the fact that Ford is a family run American company, he shows pride in the fact that Ford is built in America, and he shows pride in the American working man. What does ford do the next week? Announce that they will be shutting down 8 plants in America. Commercial number two: Intro starts with a GT40 carving through the streets, then a Mustang pulls up beside it, finishes with the racing heritage of these two cars. What does Ford do the next week? Announce that they are stopping production of the GT40. Are these departments not communicating? Or is this just a lame attempt at protecting the brand's image to the typical naive American consumer?

I liked the Shelby concept, would be great if Ford built that next. And I recall them stating it would be much cheaper than the GT.
