Favorite big 3
Favorite domestic big 3? (below is list, not in my order)
1) Ford
2) GM
3) Daimler Chrysler
And im talking like real domestics, for those about to say "ford cause our mazda's are fords" or "Chrysler cause I love the SLR Maclaren
my vote is Chrysler, they seem to be offering nice choices and taking a lot of chances.

3) Ford - the new Mustang is blah; the Cobra may be a bit more exciting. Other than that, they don't really have anything that does it for me.
2) GM - I like the C6 and I like what they are doing with Cadillac (everything out of my price range, though). GTO is ok; big engine, that's about it. Other than that, meh.
1) Chrysler - I think that Chrylser has really turned things around and that they have recently developed some really exciting vehicles - SRT-4, Magnum, 300C, Charger, Challenger, Cherokee, basically any SRT vehicle (ok, the crossfire is a bit of a bust). If I would ever buy a domestic (doubtful), it would probably be a Chrysler.

Extraordinary Engineering
Domestic?
It's a funny thing that Canadians call Ford, GM and Chrysler 'domestic' cars but Honda is called an import. They are all foreign companies producing cars in this country and all of them sell cars here that they import from other contries. In an age of global corporations does it really matter?

Bummed, but bring on OU!
Current line-up: Chrysler (though my anti-bling vote almost bumps it down)
Most Potential: Toss up between Ford and GM
Trucks: GM
Muscle Cars: GM (goat)>Ford(stang)>Chrysler(bastardized 4 door Charger)
Luxury division: GM
Arbitrary emotional vote: GM
Total: GM

Ford. They have tons of cars that I actually like and love. The Cobra, Lightning, 05 Stang, XR4ti, Escort Cosworth, Focus RS, RS200, SVT Contour, 06 Focus ST, and I could just go on and on.
GM and Chrystler have nothing that I like and never had anything that I liked.

Chryslers look good and the new ones have big engines, but they're cheap and won't last long. I've never liked Ford products, but must admit the new Mustang is nice. GM has always been my favorite even though I think it is the worst run of all of the big 3. In the end though, I believe it will be GM that dominates. If GM goes, American car manufacturing goes. The biggest threat will be the Chinese in a few years. The American buying market is not the main battle. Car companies these days must be global powerhouses and this is where the Americans need to step up their game. Chrysler is making nice cars, but they'll only sell to Americans.

I don't really think of myself as having a favorite American make. However, I will choose GM. My reasoning is I have owned GM (Pontiac, Chevy, Cadillac), Ford, Chrysler (Dodge), Mazda, Nissan, BMW, Porsche, Ferrari (used), VW and Hillman yet I have only been a repeat customer to GM (4), Mazda (4) and Porsche (3 for investment, anybody want to buy a Panamera?).

I too think if GM would just ramma jamm an LS2 engine into every car it produced, it's problems would be over.
Cavalier = LS2
Astro Van = LS2
GTO = LS2
Vette = LS2
Blazer = LS2
Silverado = LS2
Cobalt = LS2

^lol... Mallet is doing that now with the Solstice, so they're getting the idea.
I'd have to say it's a toss-up between GM and Chrysler. GM's cars, while they feel so cheap lately, have always been rock-solid for me. I don't think any of my past GM's has ever seen the inside of a shop. Chrysler, on the other hand, has totally revamped their product line, and done a great job with everything... Ford, while not necessarily bad, isn't really all that outstanding, either. At least not here in the 'States.
