Favorite automotive technologies

What are your favorite automotive technologies? Here are a few of mine:

Keyfob with keyless entry and start: One of my favorite things about the RX-8 is never needing the key. As long as I keep the key in my pocket I can just push the button on the door to open it and then start it up. I never would have thought I would like it this much until I got the car.

Rain sensing wipers: I live in the Pacific Northwest and it rains a lot. The rain also varies a lot, one minute in can be dry and the next you are in a downpour. Then just as quickly it goes from light rain to heavy rain. I don't have a car with rain sensing wipers, but I really want one.

Radar auto adjusting cruise control: I hate it when I am using cruise control and the person ahead is changing their speed all the time. Having a car with cruise control that automatically adjusts speed would be awesome.

Automatic climate control: I can never get the temperature right in the car, it is always too hot or too cold. I like the climate control systems where you can just set the temperature and it takes care of the rest.

Rear independent suspension and monocoque chassis.
RogueTadhg, deadphoenix and I could team up to build a nice car lol!

I hate all the technologies that drive the owner away from the car. I'm not talking about driving stick as a must but all these controls, speed sign sensing radars, auto brake features... they're not for me.

1. Windshields. We forgot windshields! I almost swerved off the road thanks to a diarrhea bird while driving my normal "High Rev".

2. Automatic Transmissions. Because my fiance hates my car (She threatens it regularly with angry thoughts and keys) and can't understand why I spend so much time obsessing about my baby blue r3.

3. Black Halo Racing. Hoping it counts. I want my damn plugs! Mother !@#$ing taxes.

4. Items that seem to be completely useless under normal driving situations - Spoilers, radio, navigation, windshields, head lights.

5. Illegal HID kits. My friend's Taurus has a kit, can't see the road but hell - it's blue!

RENESIS II Rotary Engine...best NA 13B Rotary Made.

Series II Electric Metering Oil Pumps...brilliant.

Electric Power Steering.

6 Speed Manual Transmission (MX-5-RX-8)

Steering Wheel Cruise Control (Switches on S2, MX-5, CX-7) are brilliant to flick and use without looking.

Yeah Toyota [To my knowledge] has yet to catch onto the steering wheel cruise control. I think my mother could actually get used to using the rx-8's cruise control.

My daily driver Infiniti has all of those and I hate every one of those features. I like turn key ignitions and see no point in remote start other than impressing friends (though it is so common nowadays). I like to control my wipers (I have my reasons). Radar cruise control is useless since I don't even use cruise control (I have my reasons). Automatic climate control has a mind of its own and I hate how it randomly turns on and off the A/C.

My list:

- Wankel
- LSD
- Manual transmission and dual clutch automated manuals
- Disc brakes
- Turbos
- Direct injection
- Clean diesels
- Factory HID headlights
- Superior suspension geometries
- Lighter/stronger alloys and friction weld techniques
- Carbon Fiber (composites)
- Aerodynamic bodies

That pretty much covers it.

all I want is an engine at the front, a manual gearbox in the middle, and power goes to the back wheel with an LSD. the end.

I look at it as simplicity and efficiency getting in the way of antiquated driving...
To each their own, no need to get rude about it.
