Yeah but still, its an amazing story, and someone revived this thread, which id love to be subscribed to, it is an amazing story no? I can only DREAM Mazda would do something like this... except for the part where you got to the victory lap, we cant turn on and then turn off our cars heh.

I guess they would have to make it a track circuit then, and give us enough laps to get the engine warm

Lol just a "short" 30 hour drive, hell is a 8 from Canada even allowed in the US? Im sure it is but I do know they are mechanically different a little, I dont suppose a Tech at a dealer here in Texas would know what to do if a problem occured in it. Anyone know the difference between US and Canada 8's?

If it's any comfort to the OP, your insurance company didn't just "let it go". They probably went after the dealership's insurance company to get them to pay up for that molten mess. The dealership was just playing dumb cause they knew they f-cked up. That's what insurance is for.

Those guys scammed Mazda for a new engine when they damn well knew it was just a coil-pack issue. What a bunch of crooks.
