the Demon Concept has been built from the ground up and uses no existing platform. It does, however, use one of DCX's existing engines – the 2.4L four-cylinder World Engine that sends 172 horsepower and 165 ft-lbs. of torque to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. Dodge officials tell us a number of engines could be used in the Demon, including the 1.8 or 2.0L World Engine. A 300-hp motor, probably the one that powers the Caliber SRT-4, was also spoken of when we were initially introduced to the Demon by DCX

Hmmmmm, i'd like to see what a normal hard top version would look like. I've been waiting for the market to start selling 4cylin rear drive coupes. {closet silvia fan}

I have to disagree with some of you... these giant pictures make it easy to be drraming about the wind blowing in my face doing 100 mph somewhere... hell it can't even cost all THAT much... what ta heck else do you WANT!!!! Punch it, spin those wheels all over the place... hell yeah!! I like it as long as it has good driving dynamics.

Dodge Demon Concept - Honda S2000 on steroids?

The Dodge Demon concept: http://www.leftlanenews.com/2007/02/...010/#more-4784

Looks like the S2K with some bloated wheel arches and a oversized plasticky Dodge grill and an Z style rear end.

No wonder DaimlerChrysler wants to dump Chrysler. Their new vehicles have been awful.

There's gonna be a lot of love and hate for this car if it's 2600lbs, and an srt version is available at 300hp. That is scary, and if nothing else is available with that kind of power in a lightweight roadster, I might have to look into one. We'll see.

Seeing as it's built on a not in production platform I bet this goes nowhere like Dodge's last two roadster concepts.

I see they're already promising the engine from the SRT-4 they haven't delivered.
