CX-7s Sales easily top Expectations in Japan

http://www.autoblog.com/2007/01/22/b...es-projection/

Mazda set a goal of about 380/month for Japan- They have taken 1800 orders since they began taking orders last month. It could be the goal was purposely set low- but thats still pretty good numbers.

Hey Charlie...where have you been lately?
Not much happening in the motoring world here without you!..

Yeah, I noticed that the CX-7 orders are doing well in Japan...do you think Mazda Japan will
release the CX-9 in Japan as they are making a Right Hand Drive version for Oz-land.

I see capacity a real issue for Mazda as their Hofu plant is 24/7 with the 3 and 6, and then the new 6 to come..
Hiroshima making the Rx-8,MPV,MX-5,Cx-7 and 9 and all their micro models and small vans...
I can see world demand for Mazda will outstrip supply very soon.
What do you think...China's plant?

well i just read this interview with the President of Mazda Canada

http://www.auto123.com/en/info/news/...tid=75558&pg=1

where he says the new 6 AND new 3 will be out next year in 2008 as 2009 MY for Canada- they run their MY the same as USA so it looks like we are furthur away from a new 6 then i believed.

According to what i read about the Mazda2 production for europe being moved back to Japan- they seem to think they have the capacity plus a little more for that. There are rumours around that Mazda is considering leaving the plant they share with Ford here where they build 6s and Ford builds the Mustang. They clearly dont have room for that volume in Japan so it might be a seperate Mazda only plant here in the states.

I cant see them selling the CX-9 in japan. Its really large with 3 rows of seating etc.

??
I think he has that wrong Charlie, I cant see them releasing a new 3 and 6 made at the same plant in the same year, for memory the 3 is around 18 months younger than the 6.
The 3 upgrade was only last year...wasn't it?

No Tribute Hybrid...don't know why they are having the tired old looking Fugly looking thing anyway...no CX-5?

Here Mazda are really pumping out CX-7 adds...lot more than usual, must have plenty of stock or sales are slower than expected, MA only advertise here when they have stock.

2 models only...39,910AU and 45,560AU for the Luxury, plus "on Road Costs"...all auto's...so for here its OK..we still pay a premium compared to you guys...

We don't have the manual that Europe is allegedly getting...I think the CX-7 is released there in a few weeks...

Australia still love their manual boxes, The GM at Mazda OZ says they are undecided on the M Tranny....I think we will see it.
