The skyactiv equipped 3 is less than 5 months away, possibly 2 months.

Any idea what the trim levels will be for the SkyActiv Mazda3?

Is it just going to replace the Mazda3i 2.0 with it's smaller wheels and lesser options (compared to the Mazda3s 2.5)?

Or will the SkyActiv be a "premium" version, with the 17" wheels, expensive packages available, etc.?

The exact packages I am unsure of but it is not replacing the 3i. The 2.0 LF remains (Engine code) and the new 2.0 PE joins the lineup with 6 speed auto or 6 speed manual.

Okay, I just checked the wheels. 16x6.5 on 205/55R16 alloys. The 2.5 remains as well and has 17" wheels.

It's probably between the 2 versions somehow. It will be interesting to see the option sheet. I think zoom44 has been good at getting that info early around here.

So the SkyActiv will probably have 16" wheels, with the 2.5 staying as the sportier, 17" version?

I'm just wondering if there's any justification to getting the 2.5, rather than waiting for the SkyActiv?

Incredible fuel mileage and really impressive skyactiv transmissions
