Civic go Boom...
Well I have been away for a bit. Kind of out of the whole car thing, but I got a fun little story to tell.
My Rx is my weekend baby car. Since Aug 2003 the car only has 7000 miles. In any case I had a Civic as a daily driver. Couple weeks back I came home from work and i saw cops around my car and every car on the street was gone. I walked up to my car and saw the doors hanging off. Turned out my car was parked on a manhole that exploded. It took quite a hit and well now its offically done for. It was a great 5 years and an awesome daily driver. Now i am stuck with a 00 Galant which i dont really like at all but hey i am hardly ever in town any more, so as long as there is no snow on the ground ill be driving the 8. I basically am out of town sun - thurs keep the 8 at my parents house and leave the galant on the streets by my apt.

some kind of pressure builds up enough and blow the cover stright out.... really dangerous but it happened in hong kong during the summer... scary how heavy the manhole covers are and yet it can still fly...

i wonder what causes the pressure build up? anyone might know the answer to this?
it might be possible but might not be the correct answer.... maybe the temp was raising and the gases expanded without the pressure releasing somehow...
