i'm not sure i follow what's going on... u'r selling the 8 and u'r using the money u get from the 8 (plus putting in money, I presume) to buy an IS250- which, u are immediately loaning to ur sis and in return u get her used VW. umm... what's she blackmailing u with, or did i miss something here... <LOL>
Ummm, yeah...what did you get caught doing? I mean...I love my sis and I'd help her in anyway...cept keeping up some type of image. What she needs is a dependable car to get to point A and B....there is no "need" for a IS250.

I don't get it either...???

Anyway, the IS250 is a nice looking car and with a SC it should be plenty fast. Congrats...while I have no clue why your sis "needs" a IS250?????

Can someone tell me why in the world did Lexus/Toyota say...hey, let's stick a big and powerful engine in the car but FORCE the owner to drive an automatic.

THAT...will forever be a DEAL KILLER for me....

I'm having this same dilemma. I'm about a year or so away from a new car I think. Problem is, I'm not sure what to go to. Since I do a lot of track days I need a car thats quite solid and a good platform to build on. Prob is, there isn't anything fast, sexy, solid, with a good aftermarket in the 40k range except the usual suspects (BMW basically.

I drove the Cayman S and LOVED it to pieces, but I'm not spending 80K (base 59 + PASM + 19s + Ceramic Brakes + short shifter etc). STI, Evo not sexy, 350z is blah.

So whats left? M3 maybe? another RX-8?

Or you could save the money and spend it on upgrading what you have...

Already done that, but cars only last a certain amount of miles. I anticipate @ the 4 year mark I'll have around 100K miles on the car. Also @ that point it will have been through 4 new england winters. I'm not gonna put a turbo on a 100k motor.

thats a lot of plumbing for the s/c. Can't even see the engine anymore. Don't get how that is appealing.
