Chose New car to replace my 8

In heated debate... i finally chose which car to choose... The battle was between the new 2006 Lexus IS250 and BMW 325i.

After much review, I chose to stick w/ the IS250 AWD. Very slow--but it's got some pep to it! The ride was tight -- and the steering wheel was just the perfect size -- very similar to the s2k.

The 325xi didn't feel much like a BMW at all... It felt a bit sluggish, and noticeably understeered in tight cornering... Therefore--will be picking up the new IS in about 3 weeks.

After doing a little search, i found these pictures and they were astounding. It's a supercharger--and it puts about 100hp on top of the bhp. Despite just the power, the piece is just a work of art--check it out.

The color i'm going to pick up is CRYSTAL WHITE... and i want to put some nice black rims on it... although a lot of people (especially girls) contest it.

I wave farewell to all of you--and i hope to keep the rotary spirit alive as i do love the sound of a well-bred rx7/8.

i have a 06 black is250awd with navi. love it. it makes me feel like a million bucks with its luxury features. my favorite is the.. keeping the key in your pocket and when you walk to your door, the dome/puddle lights light up, when you touch your door handle it unlocks, and then just sit down and press the engine start and off you go, all while the key is still in your pocket. and the infamous "im hungry" command.

I just traded out my Mustang for an IS250 MT this past weekend, same color you are looking at. It's slow off the line but once up to speed is still "peppy" enough. The car drives really well though and the fit and finish is awesome.

If you are thinking of adding FI just go for the 350, and you'll still have a warranty.

Good luck.

And an automatic. I would think TRD is going to come out with a aftermarket supercharger that retains the warranty. They did it will the camry, solara, etc etc. I'd wait for any news of that.

Congrats.

is250 awd isn't a bad car, just underpowered for somethin that's $40,000+. I'd get it if it was say, 28-30.

I'm not looking to go FI... i just thought the blower looked great.

As for the car, I'm actually not going to be able to drive it for a year albeit we have it--that's because i'm selling my car so that my sister--who's currently entering her residency as an oral surgeon-- drives a VW, and i felt bad... so i'm selling my car so she can tug it around and look pretty while i tote the VW around...

I think i'm getting it for $35-$36k ish... so it's not soo bad.. i mean, it's an expensive car -- but well worth it (imo).

As for the haters out there, hey... we're all in the same rx8 community -- no need to bash!

All in all, i'm glad that the IS owners w/ their 8's love it. I'm gonna miss my 8 though

I like IS250, but I dont know maybe Im too used to RWD cars now I prefer the RWD one with Manual.

Why does Toyota/Lexus seem to draw more flak than Honda/Acura? If the guy got a TSX, I have my doubts that anyone would be saying "Hey, nice Accord!"

Anyway, nice choice - the IS is one of my current favorites! Good call with white w/ the future possibility of black wheels. Just about exactly what I'd do.

i'm not sure i follow what's going on... u'r selling the 8 and u'r using the money u get from the 8 (plus putting in money, I presume) to buy an IS250- which, u are immediately loaning to ur sis and in return u get her used VW. umm... what's she blackmailing u with, or did i miss something here... <LOL>
