If you never driven a S2000 before go and test drive one. It is very close to a track machine. The engine Pulls hard to the redline. The suspension could be stiffer but it is firmer than most cars on the road.

I just feel the RX8 is more civilize and the S2000 is more raw.

You have it backwards, the rx8 is not in the S2000 league.

Agreed. The S2000 and the RX8 are sports (sporty if you want for the RX8) built on lightweight, high revs and the use of gearing to take advantage of that high revability. The S2000 clearly executes better when performance is the only factor.

Some will say only a four seater can be compared. If that's the case, I'd say the former Prelude SH is the closest to the RX8.

Its interesting how Honda and Mazda are the only companies producing lightweight, higher reving sports cars as opposed to larger displacement (big blocks for domestics and forced induction /V6s for some imports in this price range).

A RWD Integra/RSX Type R would be amazing. Even bringing over the Type R version of the RSX in Japan would have been very exciting.

I know the Toyota MRS is not high revving but it is the lightest production car in the US.

The Type R would be great but it is just not the same. FR is still better.
